This one was the doozy that got me without even realizing it.

#6. Don't play a character you hate. It's very tempting to play a char that is the monster you keep leashed inside, but you hate that monster. If that's how you feel, don't play that character. You gotta actually have some love for that part of yourself to keep the bleed in check.

#5. Make them love to hate you. But the love you part is the most important. Go along with their plans. Help them accomplish their goals. Be vulnerable when you are split from the party. "A tear drips down their cheek as they lay to rest." The bad guys are still human(ish). Don't forget that part.

#4. Don't be a secret asshole. I'm not saying you should spill the beans on every possible plot you wanna work to everyone at the table, but let your group know that you are about to be a little shit. You don't wanna blow up their whole plan they spent hours on without foreshadowing.

3. You GM probably loves an antag PC. Seriously. If they allowed you to play a character you told them were going to be an asshole and they said, "yup, let's do it" they wanted the drama. You help build tension they didn't have to manufacture AND you have a unique growth arc that no one else has.

#1. Talk to the rest of the table!!! Being the antag means the character friction is kind of the point. But everyone needs to be on the same page.

#2. Everything you do needs to have a purpose that the other PCs can understand even if they don't agree with it. FU, but I understand is what you want.

I had someone in my hip-hop discussion group tell me we gotta celebrate Ye because he's black and "they" don't hold white people to the same standards.

I gotta stay off Facebook. I forget how many people congregate there and just do their best to bring you to their level of nonsense.
