Actors: You don’t need 10 accents under your belt by tomorrow, or to send 50 emails a day to be a successful actor.

Here are the 3 things you DO need though…

Actors: don’t sleep on the privilege of being “unknown”.

Right now you have the FREEDOM to experiment, build and PLAY, without the pressures you adopt irreversibly after becoming well known. Enjoy the gift that it is to be exactly where you are ✨

I don’t believe that going to the cinema is valued nearly highly enough as it should be anymore, but #Wicked was a true reminder of how MAGIC the ceremony of seeing movies at the theatre is 🫧🧹

I’ve woken up and still all I can think about is JUST how good #Wicked actually was. To wait sooo long for a film and for it to then exceed expectations is such a rare thing. 10/10.

I wish I’d seen it at the IMAX where she belongs though!

At the end of the day, don’t we all just want a bookshelf with a rolling ladder?

Been diving through the Cleo archives…

Still infinitely the coolest thing I have done so far as an actor.

Sorry but this weather is inhumane 🥶

All I’m saying is, you’re overthinking about whether or not you should do it, while someone else is already reaping the benefits of learning through doing it…

I’m watching it on Disney+

Definitely worth it! But you will lose your life to it 🤣

Okok sooo I started watching Grey’s for the first time ever in July… and I’m mid way through season 8. I am not ashamed to say these characters are now my family. 🥲

And this moment, right here, is just one of so many moments to come in your career (and life!) -

Do the important work of managing your wellbeing so that you can get from one moment to the next. That is how you go both far AND fast.

You got this ✨ (7/7)

Take a step back and remember that you are not just trying to book the next job. You are not in someone else’s timeline. You are not in a rush!!!

You are building your life’s work over DECADES… (6/7)

Step back and observe yourself, asking:

“Would I hire and TRUST this person as they are now, to build my career the way it deserves?”

If the answer is no, then ask:

“Why? What is missing in energy, mindset or behaviour, that would mean they could give my career the best chance of success?” (5/7)

If you want to use your time valuably and to build your career for the long haul, you NEED to prioritise being well first.

“Well” here, meaning: rested, nourished, energised, focused, hopeful, grateful. (4/7)

It stems from the anxiety that you’re somehow running out of time;

But I can promise you that in the long run, you lose the most time by working yourself into the ground and making yourself sick (both in health and sick of the industry)

I see this tendency to catastrophise and dichotomise in an all or nothing way most at this time of year; when people are exhausted and feel the pressure of the New Year approaching. (2/7)

An actor reached out yesterday to say they had just moved to LDN, but instead of feeling excited and ready to go, they were battling burnout and a total lack of motivation.

They wanted to know if they should just push through and ‘suck it up’, or take it as a sign to QUIT.

Here’s my reply: (1/7)

I can’t believe that Wicked comes out this week and I won’t get to see it til NEXT FRIDAY. 🧹🫧

Paris was absolutely beautiful (even in the rain!) Alas, now that I am in my 30s, I can no longer reasonably describe travelling to any city as a “holiday” 🤣

The Actor's Guide to Self Representation Are you an actor tired of waiting for that perfect agent? Or perhaps you have already had an agent and now prefer the freedom of managing your own career? "The Actors Guide to Self-Representation" by ...

With agents downsizing, closing or simply hanging on till '25 self-rep can be a necessity for many actors...but it can also be a very positive, effective choice. In answer to many requests I made an affordable downloable guide 👇

Pursuing an acting career can be so incredibly lonely but it just doesn’t have to be.

I don’t often like to toot my own horn, but I really am proud to have created a community where actors can come together and work independently, side-by-side ✨
