Watching the Reds play & listening to the announcers complain that the Reds' hits have been puny, except for one. They fail to point out that the "one" was a 424-foot homer that put the Rays behind by 2.
Spin existed in baseball long before partisan politicians adopted it as a governing philosophy.

Then I learned to drive and had to get along with windshield time; a close kin to David Bromberg's "Ugly Hour."

Spending way too much time with Asian shamuses who are neither Asian nor impressive detectives these days.
What's Chinese for "shamus" anyway?

Lo! A Hammer film I didn't even know existed; THE UNHOLY FOUR (1954), a noir effort directed by Terence Fisher no less, & featuring a 40-something Paulette Goddard.
Film noir was never Hammer's film forté.
YouTube's version colorized...makes it even more unappealing.
Movie night!

Movie night!
80-year old low-budget noir to ward off another frigid weekend. Philip Ford's 1946 delicacy; THE LAST CROOKED MILE with Nestor Paiva and Ann Savage and an adequate body count....and a roller coaster! What else do ya need?
Well............summer would be nice.
Binge-ing YouTube can lead you to...Lane Chandler?
Only if you're real lucky.

TCM alert!
Hiroshi Teshigawara's disturbing 1964 film, THE WOMAN IN THE DUNES will be on TCM this morning at 4am.
I've never gotten over seeing it...but I'm glad I did.
On an icy, snowy night in the Bluegrass, recalling gentler summer nights...and invisibility of a sort.

Some nights at the theatre are......what's the opposite of transcendent?
