This morning at the Minnesota State Capitol.

An ice sculpture that reads "PROSECUTE ICE". I'm told the organization behind the sculpture is Common Defense.

One of the things bothering me about how people are responding to the Epstein files is that there are tons of conspiracies being created and spread about what’s in them, rather than people just believing the victims like they could have been doing for years now

Hard to think of a bigger 'fuck you' to the current state of American politics than Bad Bunny giving basically his entire acceptance speech for Album of the Year in Spanish after saying ICE out in an earlier speech a week before playing the Super Bowl.

Lately I've been trying to trade out morning doom scrolling and instead read next to Pancake. She prefers to pretend she's in The Shining

This whole time I've been anxious about moving my money from a bank into a local credit union.

Turns out it was relatively painless

Listen. The average person just doesn’t need training to know that it’s wrong to kill people.

This is not some big complex problem that requires expertise to get right. If ICE is killing people, it’s from a lack of morality, not a lack of knowledge.

A spreadsheet showing a list of books and currently highlighted is Row 9 for "Vampires in the Lemon Grove: And Other Stories" by Karen Russell. On the right most side is a screen shot showing the Random Number Generator resulting in the number 9

Maybe it was ambitious of me to juggle multiple reading challenges, horror book club at an indie bookstore, AND read a book a week from my physical TBR

But I trusted the Random Number Generator again and it picked "Vampires in the Lemon Grove: And Other Stories" by Karen Russell as my next read

I don’t think we should make concessions to the Masked Murderers Guild of America. I don’t think we should compromise so the Masked Murderers Guild of America stops using kidnapped kids from schools as bait. I thought this was already illegal. The Masked Murderers Guild of America should not exist.

Screenshot of an X.com post by The Associated Press (@AP) stating that dozens of immigrant families protested for better treatment behind fences at a Texas detention facility, where a 5-year-old Ecuadorian boy and his father were sent after being detained in Minnesota. Below is a video thumbnail showing a crowd gathered outdoors along a fenced walkway; many people wear bright blue or red outerwear, and some hold signs.

After being held in two of them as a boy, I fought for decades urging America to never again build concentration camps and put human beings in them. It breaks my heart to watch this happen twice now in my own lifetime.

Do not let them lull you into compromise.

Getting rid of Bovino isn't enough.
Getting rid of problem agents isn't enough.
Getting rid of ICE isn't enough.

Keep fighting. Lives will continue to depend on it.

Fun fact: Your local bookstore is doing more to protect you and your neighbors than Amazon is.

Stand With Minnesota Donation Directory Stand With Minnesota is a hub for supporting, learning, and taking action to support Minnesotans impacted by ICE and federal enforcement.

Strength to & solidarity with everyone participating in the general strike today. My thoughts are with everyone fighting on behalf of their neighbours, in Minnesota & everywhere.

A screenshot of LibreOffice, showing a spreadsheet of the physical books I own but have not read yet. Line 31 is highlighted, showing the title of the book as "The Emperor of Gladness" and the author is "Ocean Vuong". Next to that is a date, which is when the book was acquired. This means I have owned the book for almost 5 months and have not read it yet.

Used a random number generator for my first reading challenge and got 31! That means The Emperor of Gladness by Ocean Vuong will be the first book I try to knock off of my physical TBR.

It's only been sitting there for almost 5 months now (oopsies!)

I did not shrink my physical TBR at all this last year (shocker!), so I'm thinking of trying something new

Next year I want to try a different reading challenge/game each month to see what works best for me

What are your favorite ways to make reading your physical TBR more fun?
