Friend of mine did it yesterday and got a PB at 3 hours and 14 mins. Fairly flat I was told.

Very well done Ellis. Sounds as though you had a tough time with a blister and cramping calves but you pushed through the pain and earned an amazing PB so your training did pay off big time.
After timekeeping at Gorey #parkrun my wife and I helped at Kilmuckridge #tidytowns Big Klean weekend and collected three bags of car strewn rubbish along 2 of the approach roads to our village.
Timekeeper’s view of early finishers at Gorey #parkrun today on a cool but sunny Saturday morning.
Good luck Ellis!
Good luck Lisa in the half marathon.
I have written to my Sinn Fein TD urging him to vote for a fox hunting ban at his upcoming party conference.

I ran with my son at Eastville #parkrun last Saturday. The previous time was 32 years ago. A then and now:
Back from nearly a fortnight in Bristol where apart from the parkrun did little training. Have 2 weeks to my next Gorey #parkrun to regain my fitness. Today I had a Pilates class and a swim where I did 32 lengths of freestyle drills. Tomorrow a 5 miler and Friday another 🏊 Timekeeper on Saturday.
Used to love doing track workouts. Can’t remember the last time I did one.
Son and his family live in Bristol. Get over 2 or 3 times a year but not always convenient to do a parkrun. Only my second in Bristol in 6 years.
Spring in Eastville park Bristol after the #parkrun today

Thanks, it was tough. I live in a relatively flat area and I haven’t done any hill work for quite a while.
Some #parkrun tourism today at Eastville parkrun Bristol. My son was a first timer today and I struggled on the hills. Managed 30:42 on a slightly long course.
Getting out in front with the PR certainly worked well for Andrew.
Happy belated birthday. No better way to start your day than a run. I’m over twice your age and still running. You have to adapt your exercise as you age but the secret is to keep doing it. Never stop completely and don’t give into excuses.
Yes, Mott the Hoople and Curved Air at the Leeds University Refectory around 1970-1971. Yes were the band at a ball I attended during that time at a hall of residence. Those were great days for rock.
Well done Laura. It’s really satisfying when you get back to a previous level of fitness/ performance.
March was my best training month for 4 years since Covid in terms of miles run, swims and Pilates sessions. I have decided to take it easy over the next 2 weeks and give my body a rest. Hope to be back training in mid April, volunteering at Gorey #parkrun on the 18th and parkrunning on the 25th.

Photos of people running at #parkrun are not particularly flattering!
Further to my recent post, here’s proof that drilling for oil and gas in the North Sea is a waste of time. Installing renewables infrastructure is the way to go. www.theguardian.com/business/202...
Sitting contemplating in my stone circle the sun is bathing our planet with unlimited energy. There is enough energy in the sunshine, wind and tides to power everything. It is not happening fast enough because the world’s billionaires can’t make a fortune selling renewable energy.
So good when your training goes well and your month’s target gets achieved. In my younger days I would be chasing 17 mins for a 5K but the effort to break 29 at my age feels just the same and just as satisfying. I set out at Gorey #parkrun to do even paced 9:20 and this week I did it.
Sitting in our stone circle having planted up a small border after #parkrun this afternoon. Wind has dropped and it is so peaceful in the garden. Can hear the wind and birds singing.
Yes indeed.
This week’s training over. A sprint session, an easy 5K, a 2 mile sharpener today, an 800 m swim, 2 Pilates sessions and plenty of gardening. Rest day tomorrow and #parkrun on Saturday. Just need to run at a constant 9min 20sec pace to complete the parkrun in under 29 mins, my March target.
My wife and I care for a green space in our village as part of Tidy Towns. Lovely day yesterday for grass cutting, weeding and feeding the shrubs.
Same with me with an injury last October. Small incremental improvements
Well worth the effort. Keep doing them and extend the time of each one. You’ll soon be matching last year’s times
