"It’s a big celebration of our efforts, creating a healthy and vibrant way of life in our community spaces," said Chantal, a tenant volunteer. This is one of the stories we will share about how #OCHVolunteers have on our communities through our 2025 Volunteer Impact Report: bit.ly/4vFxmXT #NVW2026
20 years ago today I ran my first @bostonmarathon.bsky.social It was a life changing experience that proved that someone who took up running later in life could achieve this goal. I have so many friends to thank who helped me get there. Never let go of your dreams.
Belltown residents were hard at work filling sandbags this morning in preparation for possible high water levels. The weather forecast is predicting more rain but not expecting 2019 situation @en.ottawa.ca
Well attended Sport Equipment Sale and Swap at Woodroffe Avenue Public School. Also lots of information on safety and cycling. Thanks to all the volunteers who put this successful event together.
So proud to attend the launch of the Build Your Path program @ochfoundation.bsky.social @och-lco.bsky.social thus is a great career path in the building trades for youth. Thanks to all those involved in bringing this program together.
Thank you to the youth from the BGC Ottawa for all their efforts in cleaning up Britannia Park this morning. Many bags filled! Thanks Adam Joiner for your leadership.

It is delightful that every year @tkavanaghbayward.bsky.social puts on a reception for the volunteers who operate our city's winter trails. Whether serving on the boards or grooming in the wee hours, they are a model of service - thank you to all!
C'est un vrai plaisir de constater que chaque année, @tkavanaghbayward.bsky.social organise une réception pour les bénévoles qui entretiennent les pistes d'hiver de notre ville.

Bike lanes are healthcare.
Bikes are also mobility devices, as @robinmazumder.bsky.social once eloquently said.
The cities want to evolve, grow, create healthier outcomes for residence, tackle GHG, boost the economy, and otherwise improve quality of life, bike lanes are the way.
I'm excited to share an exciting new revenue stream for Ottawa! Our tap water is safe & high quality, so we're proud to launch "Eauttawa", bottled tap water in Bay Ward at Britannia Water Purification Plant. This will be sold to other cities! FYI each bottle can be returned for a nickel back.
Thank you Groomer Dave and team for all you do to help us enjoy winter with your beautiful trails.
.@khalsaaidca + @OCH_Foundation teamed up to provide food and personal hygiene items to 100+ residents of May Nickson Place on March 12. The Tomorrow Ready program proves collaboration drives real change, tackling #foodinsecurity with dignity. @stephaneoch.bsky.social @tkavanaghbayward.bsky.social
Tragic news, sending love to the families of these two people who died in this fire. Thank you to the Ottawa Fire Service for your heroic efforts.

It was a pleasure to serve breakfast & spend time with many outdoor ice rink volunteers across Bay Ward & the city at the annual Thank You Breakfast. I am sitting with Al Arsenault and his mighty Lakeview team. So many Bay Ward volunteers made it out. A big thank you to them all! @en.ottawa.ca
For all the city councillors in #Ottcity considering how we build more homes, and what kind of homes we should build, not only is this infographic excellent, but so is the UT feed

Love the turnout for #CNOY in Westboro in support of Cornerstone Housing for Women! They busted through their $100,000 fundraising goal; Westboro shows up. Congratulations to Amber and the team, and thanks to the BIA for pulling so much sponsorship and participation together.
This is #Ottawa’s way of saying that spring is coming!
Reminder for parents: OCDSB is holding an Audit Committee Meeting on Monday, March 2 at 7pm. This is your only opportunity to hear about budget decisions the supervisor is making behind closed doors that will affect our children.

This is exciting news. It was a pleasure to work with my colleague @lainejohnson.bsky.social to get this project to include active transportation infrastructure.
Rendering of the proposed Maitland Ave cross-section showing the width of each lane and active transportation facility.
Rendering of the proposed Woodroffe Ave cross-section showing the width of each lane and active transportation facility.
Thanks to work that Councillor Theresa Kavanagh @tkavanaghbayward.bsky.social and I did with City staff and MTO, these new bridges will be built wider to accommodate active transportation. A lot of kids cross the 417 to get to school and back every day and improving safety has to be a priority here.
It was amazing to see so many people turn out, and the variety of objects that they brought!
