Against a frontier town background, a man carries his teenage son

Give me all the feels and I make art.

Karl discovered he has a son. The son, Henrik, showed up in the small Kansas town Karl has spent the last few years in. A shootout took place. Henrik didn’t get shot, but he passed out. So Karl had to pick his teenage son up to carry him to safety.

The dynamic between a father and his son is VERY different than the dynamic between boyfriends. This has led to some accidental grossness.

(& yes the forum does have faceclaims & some might recognise Karl’s faceclaim from this drawing alone)

“You didn’t get hurt, did you?” my OC Karl asks his son, Henrik.

I’ve been struggling with drawing Henrik, because he looks somewhat similar to Isaac, Karl’s boyfriend (face shape & hairstyle most prominently).

In this time and age, it is delightful to know there are people who are eager to provide accurate, thoroughly-researched answers.

& what makes life so awesome is always having a history-related nut to crack! I’ve emailed #KansasHeritageCenter on a few matters, and I must say—they’re delightfully enthusiastic to find out all the answers.

The other character is the eldest son of an upper class family, soon-to-be forced to move back to New York and marry a girl.

Doomed loves & the remote possibility of everything turning out great in the end… those are what makes roleplaying so awesome.
