When you don't have good coping skills it can definitely turn out that way

The context in the video is creating a space where the person doesn't get to the point of fatigue, but I think it's important to our own self-kindness to remember that 99% of the time we're doing the right thing. Life is just amazing at wearing us out.

"So, there's some interesting research that's out there right now that talks about: the more decisions we make in a day, the less likely we are to make a good decision later. … what it came down to was, there's a point at which your brain is done taking risks or doing something different, …[Regarding cravings] risk is saying no to that, but the Regular Decision - the easiest decision - is to say yes to that.
So think about if you wake up in the morning and the first thing you think of is “please don't let me use today,” and the second immediate thing you think of is, “how can I get my drug of choice?” and then you have to say no to that, and then about every five seconds after that over and over and over again you're having to say no to that thought. And then if you're walking down the street and somebody comes up to you, you have to say no to that, and you have to be in the right frame of mind. By the end of the day, if we haven't controlled craving in any other way we're gonna have someone who has run out of the capability to make the decision that they want to make and their brain will chemically not be able to make the right decision.
It is not like somebody draws a pros and cons sheet on the refrigerator and starts talking about the pros and cons of whether they're gonna go buy drugs today. This is not how it works. Decisions fatigue is a huge player in what happens in the afternoon or evenings for these patients, because by the end of that day they have said no 10,000 times and that 10,000 and first-time may be the time that they relapse. "

Heard an interesting concept in my Addiction class, relating to the idea of "Decision Fatigue" taken from a video I watched.

The point here being that many of our bad decisions come only after thousands of times where we made the right choice and were worn down.

Text from Hades 2 which reads:
Hecate
Witch of the Crossroads
"Time spend being good to oneself is never wasted... unless you overthink it overmuch! We are *here*. Seize the moment, ere it passes."

“They’ll only miss me if I was gone”

Alright. You know what?
We’re gonna solve this problem.

Hey. You.

You have brought a light to someone’s day. You inspire. You have mended a broken soul just by being there. I’m sorry that you haven’t heard it recently but,

I’m glad you’re here.
Thank you ❤️
