Another scrunchie. Looks a little better than the last one.
Small yarn scrunchie. Purple, black, gray, and white.
Other side of the scrunchie. Purple, white, and gray.
Loom knitting is an act of resistance and meditation for me. I'm still learning, but it gets me out of my head and away from the chaos that is the US right now. My first scrunchie. Yes, it is meant to reflect the non binary flag.
White letters on black background that say "I fought for freedom not fascism. Love, a veteran"
White letters on black background that say, "rise up!"
Attending the local No Kings rally today. This is the front and back of my sign:
Fingerless gloves and a headband ear warmer. Might need them for the next rally as spring doesn't really come to central NY until May.
Colorful word on blue t-shirt. Pro choice. Pro love. Pro science. Pro women.
6 pins. Whan injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty. Destroy the patriarchy, not nature. Equality hurts no one. The future is inclusive of everyone. Community is resistance. It's a beautiful day to smash the patriarchy.
2 stickers. United in humanity. I believe love is love, black lives matter, humans are not illegal, feminism is for everyone, science is real, disabled is not a bad word, kindness is everything.
Took 3.5 weeks, but my shirt, pins, and stickers are finally here!

Protest sign reading, Rise up. Navu and red letters on white background.

Things I've made this week: protest signs and a loom knitted face scrubby, modeled by my dog.
Attempted a loom knit butterfly. Needs some work. I am looking for new, and relatively easy, loom knitter patterns. I have various sizes of circular looms. Looking for ways to distract myself from the craziness in the federal government right now.
2 knitted light mauve child sized leg warmers laying on a purple lap desk.
Loom knitted a pair of leg warmers for my daughter over the past few days. 2 skeins of $1.25 Premier Just Chenille yarn from the dollar store. I used an e-wrap stitch, & one end is cuffed. I need to work on my bind offs. This yarn does not really hold its shape. It's not bad for a first try, though.
The only way we can defend our parks at this point is to protest.
Take to the streets and protest like your lives and loved ones depend on it.
Because they do
I don't know who made this, but it's a handy list for us to keep track.

For 150+ years, the 14th Amendment has protected children born on U.S. soil. Trump’s attack is a direct assault on democracy. Take action now. 👇 app.sosha.ai/s/5Ev1TtEX
Ugh! My only options in my local area are Walmart and Target. I've had a deep abiding hatred of Walmart for over 30 years.
Three round loom knitted dish scrubbies in varying shades of blue on a purple background.
My current distraction from the chaos in the US right now. Dish scrubbies! Looking for more easy loom/knifty knitter patterns.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.
With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.
You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

“Whatever happens, stay alive. Don't die before you're dead. Don't lose yourself, don't lose hope, don't lose direction."
~Virginia Woolf
This has been going through my head today. Today was another terrible day for many of us, but we must stay alive. We must cling to that small sliver of hope.
My husband is a college professor and one of his specializations is Nazi Germany. He has been saying this, too.
2 labelled jars of finished fruit & fiery cider on top of the book "Fire Cider" by Rosemary Gladstar and Friends.
Jar of fruit & fiery cider that was just jarred and needs to macerated for a month.
I made fire cider, specifically fruit and fiery vinegar from "Fire Cider". Started it before Christmas, and it was ready to strain today. It is spicy: apple cider vinegar, horseradish, garlic, onion, ginger, cayenne, elderberries, lemon, cranberries, and an apple. Stirred in the honey today.

I'd love to tell them how my tenured professor husband & the rest of the faculty have to take a pay cut again due to poor financial decisions by the previous school administration. If the faculty union hadn't voted to take the pay cut, the administration threatened to close the college completely.
