Incredible work by @thebirdunion.bsky.social, which persevered through an incredibly dirty fight with Audubon's management to deliver the organization's first ever unionized contracts. As a former Audubon contributor, I'm very, very proud of them.

We are proud to announce that our membership voted UNANIMOUSLY to ratify a three-year contract, our union’s first!

More details to follow. We’re extremely grateful for all of the support you’ve shown us throughout the last 2.5 years of bargaining and escalations.

NEWS: After more than 2.5 years of bargaining and mounting a nationwide strike threat, we have come to a tentative agreement with Audubon management. The 3 year deal is a direct result of the dedication and hard work of our membership. We will proceed with a ratification vote.

ICYMI: Audubon Society CEO Dr. Elizabeth Gray would rather join Elon Musk and others in attacking federal labor law as unconstitutional than settle the multiple Unfair Labor Practices that Audubon management has committed.

Bird Union Workers Tell Audubon Union Busting Won't Fly More than two years into the fight for a new contract, union members say the National Audubon Society appears to be punishing them by withholding better benefits.

Audubon Society has rolled out superior benefits to non-union staff, in what many see as anti-union retaliation.

The staff union for Audubon workers is here! However neither the official organization nor our union-busting CEO Elizabeth Gray are here.

Anyway we’re going on strike next week because Audubon keeps breaking labor law. They’re also joining Elon Musk in claiming the NLRA is unconstitutional 🙃

Election Deniers in the C-Suites Workers can win union elections, but companies pull out all the stops to prevent them from obtaining a first contract.

EXCELLENT piece on the shameful union-busting tactics being practiced by REI, Starbucks, Trader Joe's and the National Audubon Society (!) and how the NLRB needs new tools added to its arsenal to fight them

I will wake up ass early to go join @thebirdunion.bsky.social on Tuesday because Wednesday I will be hungover from a debate watch party, and I’ll see what SAG solidarity gear I can find that isn’t collecting dust in the back of my closet. Just FYI, he wasn’t the founder, just a namesake. He was long dead when Audubon the org began in the late 1800s.

But regardless, we dropped his name from our original union name (“Audubon For All”) for the aforementioned reasons and then some. Thank you for amplifying!
