There should be something where you get money just for being alive on account of you need it to live

Sometimes i look up how to clean things that are very dirty and it says "do this every 1-2 months". But i haven't and also won't
I don't really think your opinion on Harry Potter has any intrinsic moral valence, but c'mon, you should really not be giving Rowling money or attention if you care at all about trans rights, y'know? She's not an author with bad opinions, she's a full-time political activist who used to write books.
I guess we're all doing Harry Potter takes today so mine is that "is this media spiritually corrupting?" is a vague psychological question that you can discourse about for hours and there is no right answer
but "where is my money going when I buy this?" is a lot more straightforward
they're giving Palantir hi resolution scans of everyone's passport, medical records and bank statements and the MoD's wi fi password, but sure got to draw the line somewhere
i think sometimes cis people truly have a hard time understanding that jk rowling is a living person actively using her wealth to fund the international assault on trans lives. she’s not some Complicated Author we can have a spirited debate about separating from the art with!!!!!
With the HP trailer dropping tomorrow, here's the whole deal:
If you watch the show, hell even just the trailer, I will think less of you. I will dislike you. I will think you don't care about trans people.
That's it. It's been years. There's no wiggle room. No qualifiers. You care or you don't.
This is absolutely the best approach you are not going to make cis people feel bad for watching this show because if they don't care about how Rowling is worsening trans rights by this stage they will never care so just make them feel like idiots for being into Potter
the senators recoil in horror as a wounded Caesar rises from the floor and a second health bar appears on the screen
I got this far and then accidentally closed the tab with gestures. FFS.
A div is not a button.
Not even when you are building Doom in CSS. This one is for you @matuzo.at
DOOM fully rendered in CSS. Every surface is a <div> that has a background image, with a clipping path with 3D transforms applied. Of course CSS does not have a movable camera, so we rotate and translate the scene around the user.

Relatively pleased with this.

Currently the law, following the HC judgment says groups CAN exclude trans people but don’t HAVE to.
So any organisation excluding trans people is doing it BECAUSE THEY WANT TO.
The leaders of groups doing that (especially when they are harming children) should be held to account on that basis.
When someone says „Scientists do not want you to know“ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.

Well this is a lovely thread.
You've heard that something is going on with colon cancer. I'm working on a thing...let me know what you think!! Is it helpful? What would you do different?

I have friends being threatened by their workplaces over the use of toilets they've been using for years without problem.
Trans people are going to continue using the facilities that we feel comfortable in and living our lives of course. It just makes us vulnerable to attack, legal threats, makes us toxic in terms of employment when employers are told they have to protect our rights while also discriminating against us
there's a new scam going around where they offer you a place to live in exchange for a monthly fee but no matter how many times you pay in excess of the property's value they still keep charging you to live there
'we are thrilled and proud to announce we have created marvin the paranoid android from douglas adam's famous novel, "don't create marvin, the paranoid android"'
Okay so this is true *but* not in the way most people think. Antibiotic overuse is not “I had five ear infections in a year so I took antibiotics five times this year”
It’s
“Farmers feeding antibiotics to chicken to make them fatter and more profitable” and “labs dumping chemicals into the river”
It's wild how you can't just phone up your GP's surgery and say 'can I have an appointment?' any more. You have to play phonecall lottery early for a phone appointment to determine if you need to see an actual human and if you don't get through by 9am you get to try again another day.
"if they socially transition too early we think they can get locked onto a trajectory that may not have been the correct natural trajectory for them"
Direct quote.
If kids are allowed to express themselves too young, they might not end up growing up to be cisgender, and we think we might be able to pressure it out of them if we start early, goes the logic. We might be able to put them on the "correct natural trajectory" by inhibiting their preferred expression
All this does is fuel transphobic parental fears that listening to their child, taking them seriously and respecting them is somehow indulgent and harmful. And fuel efforts to suppress and punish children for trans gender expression.
If you've ever met an adult lesbian who has a short haircut and a gender ambiguous name, you will know that queer cisgender kids do not need protecting from haircuts and preferred names.
