Didn't get to bed until after 1 this morning because I was on Hublet airport taxi duty. Up at 6 am to get the car in for a check up. Just over an hour on the bus home. Another hour or so's bus trip to pick the car up. Dinner, then shopping. Got home & body ran out of steam. Sofa blob

About to head out to pick up little car. No sign of why she’s been making weird noises. She’s a little scamp

At the time that was filmed, bubble wrap was a pretty new and relatively uncommon material, which is one reason why it was used - most people wouldn’t know what it was. Also, cheapness, because this is the Beeb we’re talking about

It’s a fabulous series, isn’t it?
We’re going to explore the folklore of casting lots, casting stones, and throwing dice in this week's episode of Fabulous Folklore! (Yes, there are demonstrations) youtu.be/s9aJBhl8W6c
Another very interesting Fabulous Folklore podcast by Dr @icysedgwick.bsky.social - this time on divination using dice and tokens. And if you watch on YouTube, there’s video inserts as well
Just listened to the podcast on YouTube, although I did keep getting distracted trying to figure out what’s in your polyhedrals. Are they jasmine flowers? Very jazzy D12s, too! (Also curious which goth shop in Newcastle.)
Hublet’s flight from Gothenburg to Schiphol has been cancelled due to technical problems, so I won’t be heading out to the airport towards the witching hour tonight to fetch him. That will have to wait until late tomorrow night instead
A carpet of bluebells in an undisturbed woodland. Clumber Park. Nottinghamshire.
Stopped briefly at the bluebell woods opposite where we got married all those years ago. Beautiful, and the scent was amazing.
The sun is out but the wind still holds the chill of early Spring
They are very pretty clicky-clacky maths rocks. (Do you play tabletop RPGs?)
Given my job, I’m looking forward to this one!
Definitely not!
Multiple reviews written and trying to track down a missing bath and pedestal mat - assuming they exist. Neither Mum or I can be sure, but given hers and Dad’s love of colour coordination, it would be odd if they didn’t. Maybe Mum’s house pixies are playing silly buggers
While Chaosium Con continues in Ann Arbor 🇺🇸, Chaosium's David Scott is at Kensington Town Hall, London 🇬🇧 today, for Call to Adventure. He's running free game demos and has a selection of Chaosium releases for purchase.
Been out, got Mum’s glasses fixed, returned out of date medications to her pharmacist, and did the shopping. Got to fuss two doggies into the bargain! And the sun is out
Weird - we were watching a Macdonald & Dodds involving Robert Johnson last night
The bluebell wood next to Clumber Park is absolutely glorious - the best I’ve seen it in years

Tom Good was a dreadful person who thought he was the hero. We all know it was Barbara and her sidekick Jerry
How is it 9 pm already? Where did my evening go?

Very busy day. A meeting, a talk, and finally starting to review the edits on a book I’ve been trying to get started on for a fortnight. And I put the correct bin out! Only the dishes to do and I will have completed my full complement of adulting for the day

Wondering whether I should have a crack at pendulum dowsing, as discussed in this week’s Fabulous Folklore podcast by Sr @icysedgwick.bsky.social, to see if my subconscious remembers where I put those single-issue Rivers of London comics
This afternoon didn’t let up and included another phone call from Mum about her medication and to her carers to make sure they remembered to prompt her to take her new tablets. Some progress was made work-wise, but not as much as intended. Really hoping tomorrow is a bit less manic on all fronts.
Okay, why the heck is there a website attached to my last post that I didn’t add or agree to? Time to delete that and rewrite
