I think you’re mixing up emotional/political with technical. This is just, how it’s done. By your logic, any prepared speech is inauthentic.

Not a RP fan but thats just a prompter screen. Just like you can print your statement out, you can load it digitally to a screen either directly in front of you or in this case, the back of the room. Literally anyone and everyone who does public speaking uses them.

Another factor worth considering is that some of the current stability in numbers might be units that were only partially knocked out, or made inaccessible in the early days of the war being brought back online. If so, Id expect a continued slow decline/stability due to that cycle for a bit.
