Starmer’s treatment of Corbyn was revelatory and strikes at the heart of his character or the lack thereof. Throw in his anti-trans bigotry, we have a fuller picture that is the failed Prime Ministership of Keir Starmer.

Of course, they don't want to pay those pesky humans.

$5,000? I mean, what’s the point? That’s not even a traffic ticket for company like Uber.

I would rather see AOC run in 2028, but at this point anyone not named Vice President Vance would be preferable.

No country in the world needs regime change as much as the United States does

It just keeps getting worse. It’s like the entirety of our government is conspiring to imprison and control us all. We had a revolution over much less abuse of our rights than what Congress is currently proposing.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani

We are spending at least $500 million a day to bomb Iran.

Imagine how many teachers we could hire, how many public housing units we could build, how many bridges and roads we could fix, if we spent that kind of money on improving life for people?

US Democratic Socialists

I do not typically wish ill upon people (well, at least those who have no real political power), but this was an easy and foreseeable outcome. She willingly voted for a man who she knew would harm her and her interests.

I’ve been online since my listserv days in the 80s. I have no desire to allow my gov’t, esp. this one, have access to my info. when I’m on a computer. I’ve gone out of my way to make myself private (from self-hosting & creating my own mail server) just to have this. It’s demoralizing.

There is no other reason or explanation for it than the obvious: it's Texas and that gov't and its sports teams hate Black people.

In this U.S. hot spot for data centers, voters have turned against them Virginians previously embraced the facilities, but a Post-Schar School poll finds they are now almost as undesirable as nuclear power plants.

Data centers enjoyed bipartisan support from Virginians as recently as 2023, but that has flipped to dismay throughout the state.

That shift suggests Virginians now consider data centers almost as undesirable as nuclear power plants.

It just keeps getting worse with every passing day. If this is the future of the internet and computing itself, I'll need to start considering going offline.

I've used Arch for years. I don't wear high socks. So, I would say no, but I'm sure there are exceptions. Also, it would depend on the person.

Any team owned by John Fisher is doomed. In a way, the people of Oakland should feel relieved. Unfortunately, this man stole their team.

As for BSD, its permissive licensing leaves it to the creator. Netflix is fairly open. Sony & others are not. I like BSD, mind you, but it’s not perfect on the licensing front. And as a desktop OS, as noted before, it’s not as mature as Linux. But it’s getting there (that is, FreeBSD).

Outside of a binary blob, Linux is 100% reviewable under the GPL licensing code. When I’ve worked on software related to Linux, at no point have I ever had to worry about what I could or could not have access to, like the way I do when trying find a telemetry marker on the PowerShell in Windows.

Please! It will be a definite improvement.

I don’t think that will happen. I frequently test FreeBSD, & BSD is nowhere near as robust as a desktop replacement of Linux. It’s great for servers & proprietary companies like Sony to use to keep everyone out of its self-created OS (courtesy of BSD’s licensing), but Linux is here to stay.
