I am saddened by the news that Renaissance Press will cease operations. Renaissance published the anthology WE SHALL BE MONSTERS edited by Derek Newman-Stille that included the story "F. - A Post-Modern Prometheus" by me and Joseph McGinty.
Dr. Allan Carswell, a pioneering Canadian engineer, physicist, entrepreneur and philanthropist, has passed away. His vision was to send lidar technology "from the bottom of the ocean to the surface of Mars" and he did. Thanks to him, there is a Maple Leaf on the surface of Mars. tinyurl.com/49y5ws2m

Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday evening (in person and in spirit) for the informal Ottawa celebration of the life of Jean-Louis Trudel.
