This is a good moment in @donmoyn.bsky.social's dive into the tech broligarchs: They keep talking about the "west" in order to feel like world-historical sages but they're just echoing warmed over white nationalist inanitites at this point:

"Instead of getting highly effective contraception methods to the country’s poorest women so that they may decide if and when to have children, Title X under Mr. Trump seems aimed at getting more women pregnant, whether they want to be or not."

To be fair, they are good at negotiating deals that are good ... for their own bank accounts.
based on what we know of the Supreme Court's qualified immunity orders, the likely explanation is "judges appointed by Democrats sided with victims of police brutality over violent cops"
Sotomayor has written about the "asymmetry" of these orders

One of Trump's biggest innovations is his relentless creation of all kinds of new avenues for companies to shovel thinly-veiled bribes in his direction.
"He’s constantly coming up with new ways to pay tribute to him," government ethics expert Noah Bookbinder tells me:
A dark money group funded in the past by Peter Thiel has given nearly $9 million to a GOP-led PAC that is blanketing Virginia with mailers comparing the upcoming redistricting referendum to Jim Crow www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

That’s why it’s so strange for a publicly listed company to issue such a statement. Is it speaking for all shareholders?

Dan Rather and other news vets urge organizers of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner “to forcefully demonstrate opposition to President Trump’s efforts to trample freedom of the press” even while they host him as guest of honor.
That’s ridiculous. Cancel the damn dinner, as I wrote last week.
SCOOP --> Paramount, Meta, and X are refusing to say what happened to their huge contributions to Trump's presidential library after Sen Elizabeth Warren raised questions about its fund getting dissolved. Ds say tens of millions remain unaccounted for.

He also holds no Senate-confirmed Cabinet or senior government position & employing family as White House advisers violates every norm ever, but this, too, has been erased from the headlines. After years of HUNTER BIDEN, it’s shameful.
This is a snapshot of the failure of MSM and the concomitant ignorance within the American electorate about what is happening in and to their country.
If you voted for Donald Trump, you owe an apology to every child who has to spend their formative years in an America defined by:
fear of the other,
an epidemic of cruelty,
a poverty of decency,
and a defiant resistance to diversity.

Last October, ICE used a warrant, obtained to arrest five individuals for allegedly gambling without a license, to detain 400 predominantly Latino adults and children at a racetrack in Idaho. Gigi Liman explains the ACLU's novel suit challenging the action under 2 Reconstruction-era statutes.
The heart of Fuentes’s message was that young men in the United States have gotten a rotten deal. In his telling, a nation of entitled baby boomers, like those leading the Republican Party, had poisoned American society with bad jobs, unbearable women and a racially diverse population intent on depriving White people of what they’re owed
Maybe the Republican Party can’t deal with its Nick Fuentes problem because this message is more or less the same as theirs so the criticism comes off as disingenuous www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...
Yeah. "I disagree with the Court's legal analysis" is one thing, but "the Court isn't using legal analysis to decide cases" is another. The latter is no longer in the realm of law and should not be treated as if it is.
