Vicky and I will be teaching Week 7, during which other amazing artists and writers will be teaching as well (including Eileen Myles, John Murillo, Kirsten Greenidge, Tracy Fuad @tracyfuad.bsky.social, Lipe Borges, and Ruby T). If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
In the 2nd part, we’ll develop short performances incorporating our monotypes as scores, props, and/or costume elements. Expect to play and expand the boundaries of printmaking and performance. The Work Center is now offering scholarships & a tiered tuition system, see: fawc.org/summer-works...
Tracing histories of embodied printmaking and experimental performance, this hybrid print and performance workshop begins in the print shop, where we’ll make monotypes. We’ll consider the process itself as a dance btw printmaker/press, with the improvisational choreography of sharing the printshop.
Thrilled to be co-teaching “performing print/printing performance” with wonderful printmaker & artist Vicky Tomayko at the Fine Arts Work Center this summer 7/27-8/1 (fawc.org/summer-progr...). This new class combines our mutual interests in experimental printmaking (monotype!) and performance.
Thanks @sherricola.bsky.social for including me in your starter pack go.bsky.app/SEiL4xr in great company 😍
