Anyone else who can relate to the soul-crushing nature of social media or am I alone here?

There is something underneath the ocean. It has lingered there for countless aeons. It has laid, writhing in the deepest, darkest, endless expanse of the umbral depths. When it shifts on the seabed, it carves mountains and valleys in its wake. Its scales are caked with the salty grime and slit of untold millennia, each one having lived through the rise and fall of empires.

Just wrote one of my favorite pieces ever! A prosaic, descriptive piece that speaks to the horrors underneath the waves, and the gospel that its priests preach to the damned.

Just posted the first part of my latest r/NoSleep series, Metamorphosis! A gay horror/sci-fi about the transformative effects of love...and how change may not always be good.

When you tie your self-worth to someone else, how far will you let them take you?

Hmm. Y'know, I've never thought about it. Settingwise, usually an empty area (someplace dark, , like, an empty void). Pacing depends on scene. Sensory details...none. Isolation. Blackness. No sound. No light. Nothing's there. Nobody to hear you scream. Nobody to whom you matter.

Call me Raven! Avid r/nosleep writer who adores dark fantasy, dark romance, and characters who are flawed to an extreme. Personally, I like the isolation of Bird Box in particular. There's something uniquely chilling about being blind. You're alone, in a dark world full of people.

He prefers looking at himself in a mirror. Neither option stimulates him enough, but if he had to pick he'd do stargazing. Far prettier, plus he can imagine what else might be out there, beyond the stars.

I'm late! But I finished a short story I'm posting on the 19th. It explores how much you can love a person, and what you might endure, might *justify*, for the sake of that love.

After all, will there ever be another who loves you like he does?

There's nothing more exciting (to me) than raw torture, honestly. Not something tailormade for that character. Not something that rips their specific traumas apart.

It doesn't care who you are, it's not specific to you.

It exists to cause pain.

This is the weirdest coincidence ever, lol. I just watched the movie an hour ago.

As someone who's hoping to get their first novel published in a year, congrats!

Servitude. Reconciliation evokes servitude. Nothing else will suffice. If you must reconcile with me, you are to serve for eternity. No other reparation is acceptable.

(From my mind of my horror eldritch-god thing that was tortured as a literal kid).

2nd and 3rd, definitely! There's something so fantastical about it!

Looks remarkably innocent when I google it now, but a few years ago...*Shudders.* Rule 34 at full play, the internet will turn just about anything to porn.

To answer your question (from what I remember back when I was thirteen), it's twink softcore with unicorn horns and sparkles everywhere

"Aletto Renou was a social butterfly with the libido of a particularly hung horse, and the sort of face youโ€™d expect to find in a collage made by artists specializing in unicorn boys"

...I'm weird, I know, lmfao.

For Dark Fantasy, I heavily recommend checking out The Wardstone Chronicles by Joseph Delaney. Scratched an itch I never knew I had! Bear in mind the protagonist starts out as a teenager though (11-13, I think), so might not be to your taste if you dislike child protagonists.

I'm of a similar mind to @dylanwells.bsky.social. But at the same time, it isn't just things being laid bare. It's them being made anew. Worms burst from the dirt. Bloated corpses thaw for maggots to feast. Daisies hide the newest cadavers.

Change isn't always good.
