At Houston's NRA convention, a lowkey affair (and a whole lot of guns) The last time the NRA's annual convention came to Houston, it elicited protests. Now? Not so much.

i really did not want to go to the NRA convention for a whole lot of reasons. i expected protests and in-your-face hard-right politics. instead, trump skipped it and what i found instead was a sort of sad affair but lots and lots of cold, hard steel.
