Ran some scenarios on Stardust sales and some of these are pretty bleak. The average is 5 years to pay back production costs (or to produce the second act). The absolute worst case scenario is 413 years to breakeven.

Considering the author's next book has already been picked up for a production before being published, and having read this and the sneak preview, I think Hildur is certainly someone to watch in SFFH and the weird fiction space.

Loved picking up on all the little notes of Reykjavík I recognized from my sojourn there, but I realize that's personal bias.

I think you get more out of this novella if you have personally experienced Iceland for more than a single vacation, or if you're a fan of Scand crime drama, etc.
