Don’t miss the film we’re showing this Monday (4/13) for Leftist Movie Night: CANOA - A SHAMEFUL MEMORY. This masterpiece tells the chilling story of the San Miguel Canoa massacre of 1968. Please RSVP: bit.ly/miamidsacanoa
Jared Moskowitz:
“What I would like to see…is a little tougher language coming from the Trump admin. I’m to the right of the JD Vance, Witkoff approach.”
Now Trump and Vance are threatening nuclear annihilation.
Is that the “tougher language” Jared has been hoping for?
We’ll be selling the version with the original colors at Miami Beach Pride. Unfortunately the printers we use for our online shop were not able to use the light blue color.
Director Felipe Cazals on why CANOA is a horror film:
Check out the trailer for CANOA - A SHAMEFUL MEMORY, the film we’re screening for our April Leftist Movie Night this Monday (4/13). RSVP: bit.ly/miamidsacanoa
Guillermo del Toro on CANOA - A SHAMEFUL MEMORY:
Our April Leftist Movie Night is Canoa - A Shameful Memory. The film tells the true story of a group of university employees confused for communist revolutionaries and viciously attacked by residents of the town of San Miguel Canoa in 1968. Please RSVP: bit.ly/miamidsacanoa
This action is called off due to threats by the police
Our member Brian was interviewed by the LA Times regarding the convoy trip to Cuba last month: www.latimes.com/delos/story/...
We are tabling next weekend at Miami Beach Pride, comrades! We'll be at booth 44, in the middle of Lummus Park. You may purchase our shirts for $25 or join DSA on the spot and get a shirt for free. We'll also be circulating petitions for Oliver Larkin's congressional campaign.
This Friday, Miami is resisting and joining the statewide day of action against 287(g) agreements to demand #ICEOutofMiami. We stand firmly in solidarity with migrant communities on the frontlines of ICE and FHP's violence and will continue to defend our neighbors and communities.
We at Miami DSA want to congratulate @oliveralarkin.bsky.social on his endorsement 🥳
The residents of Silver Court Trailer Park are getting organized! Housing committee member Carlos led a resident canvass to form an HOA among the land-tenants to fight their eviction. Come to the park on Wednesdays and Sundays at 6pm to support the residents!
This is a nationwide phenomenon. The centrists and normies are more viciously angry than the socialists and anarchists, who gave up long ago on the illusion of a working system. Would encourage leftists of all stripes to take it seriously, welcome them in while they’re receptive.
We talked to folks about our upcoming events, including our "ICE Out of Miami" priority campaign, and helped spread the word to attendees. Join DSA at dsausa.org/join
NO KINGS, NO BOMBS, NO BILLIONAIRES!
The Miami DSA contingent met at No Kings in Tropical Park yesterday to show our opposition to Trump's horrific policies and offer a democratic socialist alternative to traditional two-party politics.
Join us at NO KINGS tomorrow (3/28) at noon!
Housing chair Oscar and members of the Housing committee led a Silver Count Trailer Park resident canvass to form an HOA and fight their eviction by Urban Group, responsible for the eviction of Li’lAbner. Come support the residents at the park on Wednesdays and Sundays at 6pm.
Our members Luna V. and Brian G. joined the Nuestra America Convoy, bringing critical humanitarian aid to Cuba in a time of crisis. Miami DSA is proud to have representatives amongst the comrades supporting the Cuban people. ¡Abajo el bloqueo! 🇨🇺
DSA chapters across South Florida are fighting to elect @oliveralarkin.bsky.social , a democratic socialist running against one of the most conservative, pro-Israel Democrats in Congress. To help, sign up for an upcoming phone bank or canvass: oliverforcongress.com
Heard about DSA? Just joined? Curious? Come to our upcoming 101 session on 3.29 and learn what our chapter is all about. Please RSVP: actionnetwork.org/events/march...
I was reminded of this post during last night's In Memoriam section. There was a genuine outpouring of love for two of the people whilst one of them wasn't even mentioned. This is your legacy when you're a horrific person; once you're gone, people are quite happy to forget you ever existed.
Donald Trump letting you know how the authoritarian capture of the media is going, in case you missed it. Unlike other authoritarians in places like Hungary and Poland he has no worries about advertising his authoritarian take over of the media.
Remember when they tell you're "an extreminist" this is the mainstream now.

The president can start a war on a whim and somehow that’s not the center of the conversation?
A lot of liberal politics is still about protecting the status quo rather than building the kind of social movement that could actually resist fascism.
I looked at the list of DSA chapters last night and I’m now convinced everyone who says they don’t have a chapter near them hasnt looked
1. You are free to join a chapter that is 1+ hours from you. There is much virtual work to be done
2. You could use it as a place to find ppl to start a chapter
