What's so important abt the Strokes performance is that in less than 5 mins they made crystal clear that the US/Israeli war against Iran is not just happening because of Trump/Bibi. Its happening bcz this is what the US does. This is what it stands for bsky.app/profile/jdna...

Only One Side Has Clearly Broken the Law In the Strait of Hormuz And it isn’t Iran.

Hello friends, I wrote for Nation Magazine about how Iran has a reasonable legal basis for regulating the Strait of Hormuz and those that argue otherwise are reinforcing double-standards and imperial international law-making www.thenation.com/article/worl...

Thanks for clarifying! I wasn’t sure what their position was during the earlier effort to suspend the agreement.

Drawing on his new book, The Long War on Iran, watch the full conversation on YouTube, or listen wherever you get your podcasts — just search ORdio.

Behrooz Ghamari-Tabriz is one of my favorite Iranian academics and people. He was a political prisoner in Iran sentenced to death in the early 80s while also dying of cancer at the time. He survived & is one of my greatest sources of hope for Iran’s future www.instagram.com/reel/DWzAhUg...

Slovenia and Spain have been exceptional EU states that have refused to go along with Israeli criminality since Oct 7. But France’s decision to support suspending the EU Association Agreement with Israel…I think that’s new…the tide on Israel may FINALLY be shifting at the Western govt level

On Iran’s insistence that Lebanon be included in any ceasefire: “This logic explains Tehran’s insistence on including Lebanon in the ceasefire. For Iran, this is not a secondary issue, but central to preserving its regional architecture.”

Pentagon Threatened the Pope After He Criticized Trump It was so bad that Pope Leo changed his plans to travel to the U.S.

'The Vatican was so alarmed by the Pentagon’s warning that Pope Leo canceled his plans to visit the U.S. later in the year; “many in the Vatican saw the Pentagon’s reference to an Avignon papacy as a threat to use military force against the Holy See.”' newrepublic.com/post/208820/...

Obviously not all Lebanese share this sentiment - either its implicit hostility to Iran et al or its desperation for Iranian help- but it’s still a sentiment that makes a lot of sense since Lebanon’s own govt is unwilling to do anything to defend the country from Israeli attacks

Iran is rightfully accusing the U.S. and its Israeli proxy of violating the ceasefire already. We might not even get to Friday x.com/dropsitenews...

Last year the EU Commission recommended suspending the core trade related aspects of the EU Association Agreement with Israel for its crimes in Palestine. Nothing happened. Spanish PM - perhaps the only principled leader of a major European country - is trying to revive those efforts

You gotta assume this pushback is a result of all those Iran hawks who are freaking out that the Trump admin actually agreed to abide by the 10 pt plan which obviously it didn’t do. Scuttling any negotiations is a fever dream for those folks

Hard to say if this is meant to be face saving, but Trump admin vociferously arguing the 10 pt Iranian plan that is supposed to serve as the basis for negotiations isn’t the actual plan Iran presented. Seems unlikely the Iranians would dilute the proposal floating Iran -those are its redlines

President Trump went from threatening genocide against Iran to striking a tentative ceasefire in a matter of hours. What comes next?

There is a ceasefire, but now two separate visions for peace need to be forged.

Israel knows it will be forced to abide by the US-Iran ceasefire on Lebanon & so they are pounding it brutally. To underscore their diabolical strategy to kill as many people as possible before they r forced to stop, the Israelis are calling this campaign “Eternal Darkness” bsky.app/profile/ayou...

This is how Israel keeps this war going. By having their attack dog in the Gulf hit Iran after a ceasefire goes into effect. The UAE is not a sovereign state. It is a holding company and its biggest shareholder is Israel x.com/babaktaghvae...

“In revealing that the US is fundamentally unprepared for.. warfare, Iran has reminded us of the old adage that "imperialism is a paper tiger". If the genocide in Gaza aimed to warn humanity of the consequences of resistance, Iran's victory reminds us that resistance is both necessary and possible”

Trump was about to unleash genocidal violence on Iran so, of course, the Israelis are upset that didn’t happen x.com/academic_la/...

“While the current ceasefire is temporary, the costs of the war…may soften the U.S. negotiating position. Unlike previous rounds (e.g., Geneva), the administration’s ability to credibly threaten war has diminished. From Tehran’s perspective, they have already endured the worst” x.com/citrinowicz/...

Before the ceasefire can the veto of this awful resolution, for which Bahrain held the pen. It would have greenlit a global war against Iran. If China and Russia had not vetoed it, we’d probably be in Armageddon now

With Omani buy in, the new Hormuz toll booth is likely here to stay. This is not just huge for Iran’s economy and the deterioration of unlawful US unilateral sanctions. It is potentially consequential for third-world intl law making )for the nerds in the room).

There is no self-determination without sovereignty. There is no freedom without sovereignty. There is no way forward for a ppl if they are yoked to the will of a foreign dominator. This is a victory that is 150 years in the making for Iran. As an Iranian I am overcome and crying on this damn plane 😭

I feel no relief, there are so many reasons not to believe the Americans and esp Israelis will agree to ending this war without complete Iran capitulation - which isn’t going to happen - but at least I’ll sleep tonight.
