I wonder how much time they need to detonate such a plan?

I live a block away. There is nothing charming or villagey about that part of Carlisle Street. But the opponents of this development are very active - they had a booth set up at Saturday’s farmers market!

Bayside Melbourne feels like sub 10 degrees during the day. Gloomy & super windy. Winter is long enough without March joining in šŸ˜”

The Howard space, sure. But I reckon Menzies invested a lot more in public infrastructure and public services than Albanese ever has. Albo is too busy sustaining the Howard compact to increase public welfare for capitalists and petro-state

Anne Ruston just said the Libs need to restate their Menzian and Howard values and principles. Honestly, only wealthy boomers (and some older Gen Xers) remember them with any fondness…. They need new vision, not recycling the old shit

Yeah. The absence of ā€œreal worldā€ policies designed for people other than wealthy boomers and big business probably doesn’t help the Libs either

I know. And I am angry and I vote.

Unlike the companies who are profiteering and paying minimal tax or royalties for the privilege.

So… I’m no economist or politician but why is the government so scared of a super profits tax (for banking, energy, resources, etc)?
Surely it’s time has come?

I’m so confused.
Since when has higher than expected business investment in a market economy been something that needs suppression via higher commercial credit costs?
I am just an administrative lawyer, don’t hit me!

But Couros voted in the last board’s decision to cancel Randa’s invite? (Unless on leave)

3 months ago 0 0 0 0

Wasn’t Cr Couros on board? As city council rep her term expires soon

If it were only 1 decision & undertaking, this would make sense - today’s other board resignations effectively a vote of no confidence.
The use of plural possibly implies another loss of confidence (the Minister?) or an insoluble conflict of interest/duty (ethics?).
Mind boggles!

Also a catastrophic failure of public/corporate governance - they can’t coincidentally all be resigning for ā€˜personal reasons’. I presume confidentiality will inhibit transparency unless SA Parliament inquires (without knowing SA’s customs, surely it must?!)

They really buried the lede - but the ABC reports that Tracey Wilding has also resigned today (!)

ā€œReschedulingā€ is the operative word, I guess. But if so, both the government (now) and the chair of the board (in her letter, including her commitment to free speech) are being deliberately obtuse, for no good reason

The op-ed describes Iran as a recently discovered species of wasp that infects and ā€œeatsā€ caterpillars from inside-out. The caterpillars are Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and Iraq, who are infected via Iran’s eggs - Hamas and Hezbollah. He says the only viable strategy for the USA is to burn the jungle to kill the wasp

Noting contested facts re his non-participation, for comparison (if any) Friedman’s key bit is below. He somewhat (tepidly, IMHO) acknowledged the offence he caused in a later NYT post.

I still do not know what ā€œcomparableā€ risk Randa or her writing posed to warrant repudiation by the AF Board…

Wawrinka?
Kyrgios has today announced he’s only aiming to play AO doubles & would decline a AO singles wildcard.
I guess Tomic getting a WC would cause a riot 🤣

Seriously? They don’t discuss the US subprime mortgage market as as a contributor to the GFC?

How can they develop a credible abundance thesis without considering ā€œabundanceā€ of credit (across various target markets, I would suggest)
