Additionally- id generally stay away from bodies of water where water fowl frequent, as well as be mindful of their feces. Transmission is low but possible. Don't wear shoes indoors!

Do you feel it's efficient enough to make it worthwhile to grow hydroponically? I live in zone 5b so we definitely have a shorter outdoor grow season here, and I've been considering hydroponics! Concerned about longterm costs, though

My first spread of the new year! I like to make collages that encapsulate the month before, and write a little note to myself at the start of each year! So far, it's a yikes from me dawg.

The indifferent stars above: the harrowing saga of a dinner party bride, by Daniel James brown

Man this book is so, so good. A detailed historical account of crossing the Oregon Trail, with a bunch of cultural asides about what day to day life was like (the section on birth control and abortion was fascinating). Strong recommend, and I haven’t even gotten to The Whole Cannibalism Thing yet.

We have ~70 houseplants in our home but this is the first year we're going to have a greenhouse and also really try our hands at indoor gardening, canning and preserving! Lots of fun trial and error ahead (and ANOTHER excuse for a new journal ;) )

Sometimes, my journal spreads are as simple as a to-do list.

This one was a to-do list to help me streamline how to turn being a SAHM into treating it like a 9-5 job (to keep me focused!). So far, it's been incredibly helpful!

Living in the Future That Movies Warned Us About Goooooood morning, people. Or whatever your timezone is. I was just going through my notes—total chaos, by the way, I seriously need to organize them ASAP—but that’s not the point here. So, I was sifting through this glorious mess and found a note simply titled Thursday. Opened it, and it said: "It is already November, eh?" Clearly, I was trying to write something profound, opened Obsidian, created a new note, typed this one sentence, and promptly gave up.

I use mine as a memory keeper! I bought a daily planner and just write, doodle/sketch my day and also write to do lists.

In the monthly sections, I track media i consume (books, movies, podcasts).

And weekly spreads, I track hours I spend outside and health/fitness stats!

Every other social media app is owned by evil little freaks so this has to be the Big Tent website that welcomes everyone else. People who don't understand jokes. People who know it's a joke but still think it's Harmful. "To be fair," guys. Put up a statue of liberty here but it's on the computer

Hope you're able to come to a decision you feel at peace with soon. It's hard out here! You were one of the first journal accounts I followed when I started journaling as a hobby, happy to hear one of my OGs has values they stand by 🫣

The other reason I ask because in my only ~2 mo experience it feels like SUCH a rat race and like you need to be on socials 24/7 to build a following/community. I have a 15 month old and idk if that's realistic! I pretty much use up all his nap time for it as is haha

Where do you think you'll land app wise? I'm thinking here, substack, and maybe a blog for fun. But, I only started my accounts in November so I only have like 250 followers to lose haha. I imagine it's a harder decision for bigger accounts. But I want off meta/musk/tiktok I think. Feels icky.

Day 3: draw a food item you had in the past week.

I ate some green beans from Tibets in Louisville, CO on Friday and haven't stopped thinking about them since.
