Senator calls for DEA to provide info on "incredibly disturbing" Epstein drug investigation Federal drug enforcement investigators targeted Jeffrey Epstein and 14 others in a yearslong probe first reported by CBS News.

This is a big one. A newly uncovered document has revealed the existence of a mystery Epstein investigation. It was spearheaded by the DEA and involved drug trafficking and money laundering. Epstein was one of 15 targets. The other 14 names are redacted. I've got questions.

and i think the example of washington — whose peer, in this regard, is frederick douglass — is a reminder that artifice and performance are important parts of democratic society, and that the contempt for virtue signaling is corrosive. virtue is meant to be signaled!

This isn't about championing Massie. It’s about the Constitutional Firewall.

We don't get to curate our rescuers in a crisis. We save the Republic by proving that regardless of the messenger the Law is still King.

You want the documents without empowering the messenger. That is the ideal.

But in a state of capture only a procedural disruptor has the leverage to break the stalemate. If we neutralize the only actor forcing the issue we don't get better transparency. We get silence.

I agree with your comment @davetroy.com. We should welcome the transparency while denying the narrative.

But we face a practical deadlock. The DOJ is actively defying Public Law. Massie is the only actor using the Speech & Debate Clause to force compliance. 🧵👇

No Kings, No Secrets: Thomas Massie and the Constitutional Firewall The Speech and Debate Clause of Article I, Section 6 of the Constitution stands as the definitive legal proof that the United States was ...

This is why the Massie/Khanna move matters. ♟️

They aren't just seeking data; they’re forcing a choice between a Law-based Republic and a Mafia State.

'Chaos' is a ghost story told by kings. When capture is complete, the only way forward is through.

Four men in unredacted files named by Ro Khanna have no ties to Epstein Men appeared in photo lineup assembled in New York and had no apparent connection to late sex offender

The DOJ is in open defiance of the law.

By illegally withholding labels that separate suspects from bystanders, they’ve built a tactical Gag Rule. When an agency uses innocent people as human shields to protect the powerful, the capture is complete.

We were designed to have #NoKings

In the 1700s, Royal Prerogative was the tool used to shroud corruption in silence. Today, the DOJ uses Executive Secrecy as the modern shield for elite impunity.

But the Founders left a kill switch: The Speech and Debate Clause.

Many people in South Africa, where Elon is from, died to create a genuinely multiracial polity. They were killed by people who thought like Elon.

The people who thought like Elon also lost. Seems their “common culture” of white supremacy wasn’t enough.

Elon probably meant to say "Scots-Irish" and probably knows more of the history here than you might assume since white supremacists like him regard the Plantation of Ulster and displacement of the Catholic Irish as a prototype for later white supremacist settler colonialism (like South Africa)

If @npr.org has to have a Republican on for balance it should obviously be Massie.

Hey @steveinskeep.bsky.social why do you keep handing the megaphone to QAnon-lite Nancy Mace?

2 months ago 1 0 0 0

Nancy Mace demands the release of files she claims exonerate Trump, while attacking Trump’s AG for keeping them hidden.

That’s illogical and indefensible. NPR’s constant normalization of Trump is why people change the station.

The American right does not defend slavery because progressives say it was bad. They defend slavery because racial hierarchy has been an important and increasingly explicit component of their ideology for 70 years. Read a fucking book.

Yes it’s Valentine’s Day. But it’s also the chosen birthday of Frederick Douglass who was born in 1818 on a plantation in Talbot County, Maryland. He escaped from slavery & rose to become the most eloquent and forceful voice for the abolition of slavery & for Black voting rights in the U.S.

In 1854, after watching the federal government deploy 2000 federal troops and spend $40,000 sending Anthony Burns back into slavery, Boston's Amos Adams Lawrence said “we went to bed one night old-fashioned, conservative, Compromise Union Whigs and waked up stark mad Abolitionists.”

One thing the ICE masks do is hide that Stephen Miller's white supremacist project relies on brown labor.

"The day of accountability will come": Rep. Delia Ramirez on abolishing and prosecuting DHS The Handbasket spoke with the congresswoman who called out ICE long before it was popular.

NEW — I spoke with Rep. Delia Ramirez (@ramirez.house.gov) about her calling DHS leaders "inheritors of the Klan hood and the slave patrol," the prospect of one day seeing them behind bars, and what it's like to see the public [finally] embrace her long-held dream to abolish ICE.

DHS is shutting down because it refuses to obey the law. They are tear-gassing schools, killing American citizens, and disappearing legal immigrants. Democrats shouldn’t fund an out of control ICE.
