It’s not surprising that they’re thinking it, it’s that they’re finally saying it.

Nice interactive article that explains and shows that the tariffs didn’t do much of anything positive for people, the economy or the nation.
Today, I launched my ActOn Lowering Costs Affordability Agenda that includes my steps for lowering the cost of living, helping Ohioans keep more of their money by cutting taxes, putting money back in people’s pockets, and building an Ohio that delivers for working families.
Rising costs are overwhelming far too many Ohio families.
@amyactonoh.bsky.social has a plan to reduce costs and put money back into your pocket. ⬇️

I think if you defy a subpoena then you deserve the consequences. It's the law. You don't get to decide the legality of it, that is for the courts. Equal application of the law to everyone is bedrock to the system.
So here’s the thing
If the markets expect TACO, and thus don’t react to, say, possible war crimes, he’s not inclined to TACO and is not dissuaded from doing said war crimes.
(Not that the markets should be the guardrail. Lookin’ at you, Congressional Republicans.)
Tens of thousands of children from Ukraine have been stolen by Putin.
We sent a bipartisan letter urging the Administration to hold Russian oil companies – benefiting from Trump waived sanctions – accountable for their direct involvement in these abductions.
The execution of payroll is easy; I want ML to show me bad input and output data, and maybe AI can suggest some fixes. If I have good data, I have a good, easy payroll. My concern is that we might lean too much on AI to make up for bad, sloppy and expensive data & processes.
And then there is this thought that maybe we are approaching it all wrong anyway, which I think has some merit

This is one reason I struggle to embed AI tools in my payroll landscapes. The cost of making mistakes is pretty high. Who would accept the disclaimer that your payroll might not be accurate, on time or compliant because the embedded AI in it might make a mistake?
As the Artemis II crew journeys to the Moon, these images are a reminder of our shared home and humanity. At Easter, as the world reflects on hope and renewal, Gabby and I pray for strength, and for the fighting in Iran, Ukraine, and elsewhere to give way to dialogue and peace.

“What do their credentials and diplomas have to do with their actual competency?”
Sometimes, a lot. This isn’t a judgement on someone’s character, it’s about having some training for the job. Nothing wrong with wanting someone properly credentialed for a job.

Everyone loves to bash taxes & wants to pay less. But no one wants to give up what those taxes are used for - streets, public safety, services and so on. You can’t get something for nothing, not sustainably anyway. Which is why we struggle with a deficit & debt.

Think about Eisenhower’s conduct during WWII – his clear sense of mission, his diplomacy toward allies, his acceptance of personal responsibility if things went wrong.
Compare that to the toddler in the White House now. How far we have fallen.

This week, it was great to be back for our third visit with the Boys Book Club at Rothenberg Prep. We’re reading ‘Class Act’ and they’re already on page 152!

Another one of those what-if-it-happened-in-another-country moments:
The president is suing the government for $100 million dollars for searching his home for the classified documents he stole, and the attorney who represented him on those charges is currently leading the Justice Department.
In Jan 2025, he said Elon Musk was going the balance the budget with DOGE finding fraud.
On 2/2/25 he said tariffs would balance the budget.
On 6/2 he said OBBB would balance the budget.
On 6/12 he said Trump Cards would balance the budget.
Now he says Vance will do it.

Wise words
News is too fraught right now. Don’t screw around with April Fools garbage today.
When it comes to the vast majority of everyday business tasks where total reliability is not required, the available LLMs are fine. But in my field of #Payroll, the cost of making mistakes is very high; we need reliably accurate and compliant results.
We’ve entered the grift part of the January 6 whitewashing of history.
Mainstream journalists are abdicating their duty. Cartoonists are the real heroes of the moment.
