I lost my dad in Jan. 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimers/ Lewy body dementia. I took over as his primary caregiver in the end stages, so I had a front-row seat to his suffering. He just wanted to be at peace. And the grief still hits me like a sledgehammer out of nowhere. Thinking of you.

Yes, and I think it's heinous to sneak in a completely bogus charge for assaulting an officer, because any defense attorney can point to that and raise questions about the validity of the other charges, which are very real and deadly serious. He's gotta be held accountable for her safety, period.

and it makes me so mad. Like I KNEW the James Pearce Jr. assaulting an officer charge was going to be dropped because there's no way the cops released all that other body cam footage and NOT footage of the alleged assault of the officer.

Oh, yeah, that wasn't my intention. I distrust everything cops say and do. I was trying to say the cops would need to prove there was a valid reason to even engage with him in this circumstance for me to believe any part of it and I think NFL teams should see it the same way

The police report also says he moved when he was asked to move! Any time a cop works a "smirked" into a police report I think it is super fair to assume that cop was just looking for a reason to be a dick

I'd really need to see video of this incident to know whether these are legit misdemeanor charges or if it's law enforcement overreach. The "smirked" in the police report tells me it's almost certainly the latter.

For one, I think it's inaccurate to suggest people living in American prison conditions are "justice-involved" in any way shape or form

I'm big into people-first, inclusive language and have never in my entire life heard the phrase "justice-involved population" w/r/t people who are in prison
