@bsky.app will host your data but you don't need a profile on Bluesky if you don't want one!

As always you can still login with your existing account on the Atmosphere either by entering your handle, PDS URL, or with with Bluesky 🦋

We just deployed a change that will massively improve the performance and reliability of Frontpage 🚀

This unlocks a bunch of new features that we're looking forward to bringing you all 👀

The AT Protocol allows applications like Frontpage to interoperate with other data on the network but right now we don't use it for much.

Today we use this to populate your frontpage profile/avatar from your Bluesky profile.

Good question, I don't think we have that written down yet!

Right now you use the same account to login to both Bluesky and Frontpage. All of your data is stored in the same place as your Bluesky data.

In the future we might use this data for more things eg. suggesting communities to join based on your Bluesky interactions but no concrete plans for that yet!

Frontpage is currently in read-only mode while we fix a critical bug. Issue has been identified and we're working on a fix. Hang tight!

If you visit a profile on Ouranos, you'll see a new "Atmosphere" tab. This is part of an ongoing process of supporting ATProto apps. So far I've added support for @frontpage.fyi, @linkat.blue, and @whtwnd.com. The design will evolve as I test and experiment, and I'm aiming to support more apps.

We rewrote a piece of our infrastructure from scratch to solve this and it's now live 🎉

The posting experience should be greatly improved and we have more improvements to come. As always please tag us if you run into any errors

The app is pretty flaky right now, we're looking into it!

Frontpage Your frontpage to the internet.

Head to frontpage.fyi and enter your handle, you'll be redirected to a Bluesky login page (your atproto host) where you can login and grant access. That should be it! Any questions just shout 😎

Looks like Bluesky is having some issues causing Frontpage to be unavailable for most people. If you have a self hosted PDS you can probably still use the app though 🙈

There will still be bugs, so please shout about them when something weird happens!
