I want to thank my friend, colleague and long term collaborator the social media-less Prof. Robin Hiesinger for nominating me and look forward to many more years of exciting intellectual exchanges and experimental collaborative work
Check out this amazing video summarising the recent discovery from Robin Hiesinger's lab on target-independent formation of retinotopic maps in the fly's visual system: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhZP...
So well deserved Fiona!
I owe this “career award” to everyone who has been part of @hassanbraindevlab.bsky.social over the years ❤️
I am grateful and excited to receive the Humboldt-Forschungspreis (Humboldt Research Award) from the @humboldt-foundation.de I look forward to inspiring interactions with this amazing scientific community. Thank you to Prof Robin Hiesinger for the nomination and the award committee for selecting me.
It was areal pleasure to visit and exchange with colleagues about the beautiful science being done. Thank you for having me!
Thank you for the invitation. Really looking forward to the visit.
Julien Pigeon and colleagues show how conserved processes can be fine tuned to result in species-specific patterns of brain development. Thanks to @alexbaffet.bsky.social @boyanbonev.bsky.social @neurogenesis-i3s.bsky.social for a great collaboration

Looking forward to this exciting meeting

Intriguing! If true, this would be further evidence in support of the concept of developmental origins of neurodegenerative disorders pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37184296/
This was a really exciting and fun conference organized in a lovely setting. It was a pleasure to be part of it. Thanks for having me and congratulations to the organizers for putting it together. I hope it’s the first of many!

While I applaud Europe taking a step to fund bringing scientific excellence to Europe, the ERC’s current success rates at 10% for Europe based scientists is statistically at lottery levels. The total ERC budget should double across the board aiming at doubling funding rates.
