You get it
Thank you!
The people will leave the state argument undervalues our home and community.

This is an incredibly nuanced and illustrative view into recent events and matches my understanding and ongoing thinking about these issues

Iāve started 10 companies and 0 times have I ever thought, āwhere is the lowest tax impact for me as a founderā - itās about community and access to nature to keep me sane
Smaller founders who donāt want to live in the state arenāt going to live in the state! Itās a beautiful state and community - happy to make it even better with more equitable revenue collection and allocation.
Itās crazy we donāt have a state income tax. I still remember doing my state taxes in GA, a red state, and it was no sweat.
If folks want to leave so they can afford more horse ranches or private islands elsewhere thatās fine with us locals. Iāll happily rent your sailboat on the weekends.
Iām for the WA state tax proposals. As a startup founder and investor who loves the local culture and natural beauty, a thriving community will only make me love living here more. Happy to pay my share, my lifestyle lets me afford it. I wish weād go further for housing/infra too
You don't get to turn your chatbot into a tool of mass sexualized harassment and then two weeks later say the problem is fixed because the abusers have to pay for the privilege.
Too late, IMO. Iām so over it.
A must listen. The moral panic about AI is probably more dangerous than the reality.
Itās ok to give yourself an āemployee discountā when there are only self-checkout lines open at the grocery store, right? š¤
At least they let you in!
Good idea
Oops I might need to try that
Iām so psyched for this! Seems like something yāall would make. š„°
Matcha lines? š¤Ŗ

I've been lucky enough to be challenged by Ted Chiang about AI, technology, capitalism, and philosophy myself and this article is an important read. I think it's crucially important to balance any technological pursuit with the philosophical implications it carries.
āWokenessā is just standing up for everyoneās right to the pursuit of happiness. I canāt think of anything more American than that. If youāre so unhappy you want others to be as wretched as you, I feel sorry for you, but donāt tread on everyone else.
Any chance I can contribute something to the Urbanist about this as a resident? Would love to share some pro-housing love from I guess unfortunately a NIMBY stronghold.
Really excited to have gotten to canvass for this initiative. This is such a well thought out solution.
They don't! I love them, and there's plenty of room for more. Especially on the corner of 34th and Union at that abandoned ugly building with parking that nobody uses...
Thanks for sending this! We need more housing everywhere!
As a Madrona resident for 15 years, I'm pretty upset to hear this. Already emailed City Council. We need more housing!
