i've repeated the line i saw somewhere that project hail mary is 10/10 7/10 movie, and despite being a very different movie it equally applies to the mummy (1999)
let's be real, everyone in that cast is gorgeous
finally, a justification for why i have 30k unread emails
110k if you count the 80k i mass marked-read without actually opening several years back to clear it to zero
steam workshop redesign? must everything change, is nothing sacred
but can AI finally answer the question of whether joe flacco is elite or not
real depresso three-day weekend. just a lot of sleeping and accomplishing absolutely nothing. no obvious reason for it, or at least nothing new. thankfully there wasnโt much that needs immediate doing. getting together with friends this week so hopefully that helps turn the ol brain around a bit
Seriously โ I only buy soda when itโs buy-2-get-3-free and I feel utterly deranged hauling ten 12-packs around the store while I get my remaining weekly $50 in sandwich and salad ingredients or whatever
I will say my concern on this was somewhat ameliorated by this @volts.wtf podcast with @jigarshahdc.bsky.social; whole pod was a good read but this passage in particular implies replacement of onsite gas turbines faster than people probably think because they're wearing the shit out of them
Also precognition, specifically for knowing precisely Which Day It Will Happen
recurrent laryngeal nerve of a giraffe: hold my beer. no, seriously, this is gonna take me awhile
Or maybe not, maybe it's all fatigue, or was destined to collapse under its own weight anyway
(I'm also... not a fan of Joker, even while recognizing that it was endeavoring to be (and maybe succeeded at) being an actual good film)
Like, if they'd stuck to a 2 movies/year release rate, maintained the consistency of the Winter Soldier through Endgame, avoided the intertwining of Disney+ shows with the movies, and not had COVID and Jonathan Majors screw with post-Endgame plans, maybe they're still riding high today?
I certainly agree with you, though I don't know (genuinely) how much I'd weight it amongst their struggles
two too many for her, i think

Iโm largely on your side of the argument here (mostly-dismayed as I am by it many days), but thereโs certainly reasonable argument that forced decentralization would result in less demand
Most users arenโt willing to jump hoops to install a local model for more frivolous uses
there's very few people who genuinely meet the definition of Not Very Online, merely different and ever-increasing flavors of brain poisoning
So long as you skip the episodes that are especially politics-focused on those issues, and take any CEO/Founder interviews with suitably large grains of salt, it's often a pretty informative listen/read for a layperson I think
As an aside I know lots of folks dislike DR's posting (hell I blocked him for political dooming on here) but I really do recommend the Volts podcast since it's 1) structured around guest interviews, and 2) focused on climate and clean energy
it's been coming down here all week. this weather makes me want to stay at home, curled up with a good book

I don't really know what that implies for the future (especially because both reactions seem understandable), just that it seems to be so
I think *this* is the unique thing about AI (at least in my lifetime), not the speed or pressure of rollout -- something simultaneously this unpopular *and also* still getting adopted/used this much/rapidly
(Just my uninformed guess, maybe there are past examples like this as well)
this was a delicious mistake, may as well be hungover today and i only ate like 1/4 of it
in my dotage, my stomach has become a delicate, balanced system no longer capable of housing 3000 kcal of bread and cheese and dipping sauce in the middle of the night without resultant Bad Feelings
many such cases
it's been humorous but understandable to see -- i'd forgotten exactly how little covid-specific language there was on the map myself
now we just need an answer to โwhat is the half-life of sticker shockโ
objective measures agree: facts donโt care about your feelings; and also, feelings donโt care about your facts
but seriously, excellent post and deeply appreciated reading the ongoing discussion between @gelliottmorris.com and @besttrousers.bsky.social the last couple days
