Boss just said I responded rudely because he interrupted me while I was asking a question for a situation he inserted himself into and I called him out on it. Yeah…that tracks.

It’s okay for the basics so far. They want you to write the code the exact way they did which isn’t always great and some of the wording for the instructions in the labs can be confusing as to what they want.

Working on the free python certification that work wants me to get from the park today. After the rain the temperature is nice, as is the breeze.

Corner shelf for my bathroom assembled and done. First time using that glue…it’s pretty fucking amazing.

And your willingness to try to explain it in a different way since I was not understanding what you were saying fully.

Thank you for the info - I believe I understand what you are saying now. That does seem like a valid option however the effort to stand up a gitlab server really isn’t that much more of a lift imo. That is new and great information that I am glad to know now however! I appreciate your patience

That gets me back to 42 cpus, 92GB of ram, and 3.4TB of storage.

Well that's good news. I was getting ready to unplug my node that was down so I could work on it at work tomorrow but decided to power it on to see what it was doing b/c it stopped working 7 months ago (whoops, lost track of time). It just powered on, booted up, joined the cluster and says it's good

They are just both too cute and useful to not want them.

Yes! That is what these are and I could not resist picking up some of them after I got rid of my Dell R620. If I happen to get access to any more I will be sure to let you know - if you're interested.

I will definitely check it out, though I cannot promise any level of interaction as I have a million discord servers I am part of. I can only say I will try :) and thank you.

I know you can use git locally. I'm not sure exactly what you are saying unless you are talking about using gitlab's public servers which is what I am trying to avoid by hosting one locally. I apologize but I just do not think I am understanding the point you are trying to make.

Oh and the 6 optiplexes are in a black and purple rack/stack/thing on top of the rack.

3 days ago 2 0 1 0

Yes! I used to do that as well. I got tired of that though and at one point had a Dell R620 so I have a full size 10U 12U rack...something like that. I do not have the R620 any longer so now it just houses my UDM Pro, 24 port switch, 8 port POE switch, a patch panel and my NAS.

Yes, I have 6 of the micro optiplexes that I got from work. One is down but it will be back up in the next day or two. Since I am clustering them I have ended up with 30 CPUs, 77GB of ram (at the moment), and only 3TB of storage. I am going to add more drives when I can get some and I have my NAS

And he should not have to have anything but git installed and the git extension for his godot editor from my understanding.

I'm just standing up a gitlab server on a VM for myself. I will push my code to my gitlab server with my gitlab projects. I will then stand up another VM running a separate gitlab server that is just for his stuff and he will push to the repositories he creates on his. We both will be creating many.

And it's up and running.

Indeed, but I kinda like it when things like up like that. Tends to spark extra motivation.

I made the mistake of 3d printing a cute little black and purple "rack" for my mini optiplex machines however it's a pain in the ass to remove one of them so I've just avoided it. I need to do a legit mini rack set up or put them in my full rack and go from there.

It depends on how you define need. Mine is hobby stuff so I don't need much. His is for his dive into indie game development with the hopes of being able to make that his career. Since his stuff will be business related I would prefer to keep it separate. I also have resources to spare.

I guess that also means I need to take a look at the proxmox node that failed in my cluster finally LOL.

4 days ago 4 0 3 0

also means I need to stand up and figure out the whole reverse proxy thing with nginx at some point possibly. /end

Sounds like I am going to have to spin up not one, but two gitlab servers at home now. Since I'm trying to get back into coding it would likely be a good idea to stand one up again but my son has finally started the big push to switch to godot and will need his own gitlab server. I guess that /1

I need a quick sanity check if y’all don’t mind because surely I am not the only one who had or remembers these CDs. Back in the day there was at least one or two rap collab CDs that were done by both the Bloods and the Crips, right?

playing around with the pomodoro technique today to see if it is useful for me...not sure it meshes well with my brain being how it is lol

Noooo. I’m not that smart and I don’t know that much yet. This is just a free intro to Python type certification
