‘Online abuse of politicians is a profitable business-Monetisation and algorithmic amplification has turned peddling disinformation, hate speech, and harassment into a for-profit industry’.The far right Irish blue ‘thicks’ who went after Eileen cash in on hate.

I know there’s a lot going on in the world but can we take a moment for the crime against ice cream that is the new vastly disimproved HB Feast with bad “vanilla” ice cream and a fairly unpleasant fake Nutella centre…
Why isn’t this a joke
This is how it feels to be an artist when your local community decides to celebrate their culture by using the machine that turns culture into sausage meat.
For context - this is costing us approximately a quarter of the cost of the children's hospital. A building which will serve every child in Ireland and last decades.
We're spending a quarter of that cost on making sure private businesses make money.
Fuck sake.
You can probably support the working class and demand support for people who are struggling because of capitalist inequality and also not pretend massively bigoted rhetoric and action isn't happening or being Trojan-horsed in under the guise of taking down those in power, by the way. Just a thought.
We need a list on the front page of tomorrow’s papers of exactly who got this, and exactly where it was cut from to pay them.
Opposition leader Péter Magyar at a rally.
Orbán's electoral crushing is a far greater achievement than most people outside Hungary realise.
He systemically consolidated power for 16 years, fixed the electoral map, abused govt power for political purposes & censored media.
The hurdles that Hungarians overcame for this moment were immense.

interesting that when a movie with female protagonists does poorly the response is to cancel upcoming projects with female protagonists and when a movie with female protagonists is a huge hit the response is to cancel upcoming projects with female protagonists

Of course 🤮
The reference by some of the leaders to “the housewives” coming as reinforcements at the weekend was quite the red flag imho
You can't protest alongside racists and far-right activists without getting that stink on you. They're not really on the side of the people, they're on the side of the people they deem worthy, and that's a very small group.
The "Charity begins at home" people are... *checks notes* abusing charitable people feeding homeless Irish people #spéirgorm
On the Muslim Sisters of Éire Facebook page. Totally normal protester behaviour. Definitely great to support people like this
I think quite a lot of people who support the protests thought it was calling for support for price cuts for everyone. Oops.
As disabled woman pedestrian, cyclist, public transport user, I feel the power dynamics of men in big heavy machinary controlling the roads and an entitlement to the space and resources with no regard for anyones needs rights or sense of safety.
“Across every sector, across every size of company, four out of five companies have a pay gap in favour of men. Per the data on PayGap.ie, the average mean hourly gap is over 11%, with one in five companies exceeding 20%. These figures have barely shifted in four years of reporting.”
Due to the protest and the blocking of O’Connell Street, we are unfortunately unable to access the GPO tomorrow evening. We have made every effort to contact the organisers but have not been able to reach a lead contact. We have also spoken with the Gardaí, who currently do not have further information. With great sadness, we have to cancel tomorrow’s soup run, as we rely on access for our transit van and six cars. This is especially difficult given that we have been running this service outside the GPO for 11 years. We want to make it clear that we fully support the protest and understand the importance of standing up for change. We are also deeply concerned about the rising fuel costs and the lack of timely action. We hope that by next week we will have more information or be able to coordinate access so we can continue providing this vital service. Thank you for your understanding, and we stand with you.
The Muslim Sisters of Éire will not be able to provide their much appreciated soup run to folks in need due to the protest and the blocking of O’Connell Street.

Shameful “The Health Service Executive briefed the body that the disruption is causing people to miss scheduled medical appointments and is impacting the provision of homecare and critical care, such as dialysis and cancer treatment, to some service user”

It’s gone too far!
Caring for our sick and elderly, how dare they..
The lesson here is that the far right in Ireland know that people here don't like the whole far right thing, but they can give the benefit of the doubt to seemingly unrelated single-issue protests.
Keep sniff-testing.
In case anyone hasn’t seen them in person, quite a few of the trucks on O’Connell street are covered in tricolours and it’s not because they support the women’s soccer team. The “take back our country” placard doesn’t mean “from the grey squirrels”.
I heard the intro and was 1000% sure it would be you - how could it’s not be x
Dublin Bus still sending people to the dark place for basic travel updates yeah? Faboo (also no, the bus did not show up as scheduled)
