ReadingWales’26: Sugar and Slate by Charlotte Williams Sugar and Slate is a memoir that uses a mix of poetry and prose to explore the complexities of identity. Williams grew up in the coastal town of Llandudno in North Wales, the daughter of a white, Welsh-speaking mother and a Black Guyanese father. She returns again and again to the feeling that to be half-Welsh and half Afro-Caribbean was to be half of something but never quite anything whole.

I know it's hard not to stress or fret about reviewing but it sounds as if you need a break, or to stop trying to force it. You'll need all your energy to deal with the mad & overwhelming. Do that and make notes or a draft when you can. Review by stealth is my approach at times like this. Take care.

Ah, I love that. It's so good to hear that someone else is grey-friendly. Their paws fascinate me with those Dali-esque claws.

Sorry to hear that, Ali. I hope things improve soon. Don't beat yourself up about the blog posts and reviews. You'll get back to them when you can. Watching squirrels is always a good way to spend your time. We have greys here. Which do you have where you are?
