To this day, no other game has matched the atmosphere of Super Metroid. Prime was closest, but Super Metroid's slow synth dirges, still unmatched in 2D weather sounds/effects, is really unmatched.

Just the title screen alone has the same emotional atmosphere as the LOTR films.

tetris.wiki/TGM_Guide this is the best beginner guide for TGM i know of. It includes an achievement list at the end that's a pretty good roadmap for improving at a reasonable pace ^^ There's another more in-depth guide but I can't remember it off the top of my head

If you're playing on controller you probably want one with a good dpad though and the official switch controllers are not going to cut it. personally I play on MAME using a keyboard but i use a controller occasionally and it's fine for casual play

tgm1 and 2 are both on the switch so that's the easiest way to get into it. A fightstick is the best way to play but playing on controller is basically fine. I saw a youtube video of a guy who beat tgm1 using only an analog stick so really anything is possible
