Clearly there's no shortage of horrors to choose from of late but for some reason this one in particular has really chilled me to the fucking bone. Last week a group of pigs had lunch at a Mexican restaurant called El Tapatio in Willmar, Minnesota. "Staff at the restaurant were frightened," an eye witness told the Star Tribune. You can surely imagine that they were. You can picture exactly how it must have felt in there. Four fucking Nazis with their shit-eating grins squeezing their fat asses into a booth at a family-owned Mexican place poisoning the entire room with their smug impunity. Desecrating a place of community. There's one like it where you live too. In almost every town in the country. We love Mexican food here so much.

They forced these people to prepare their food and to serve them all the while knowing that they were going to ruin their lives after. With full bellies. The threat hanging in the air. Of course they did ruin them. They arrested a dishwasher and the two owners a few hours later after the restaurant closed.

Can you imagine being made to wash the dishes used to feed the men who are waiting to kidnap you or worse? Cooking and plating their meals? I wonder if they put the same care they usually do into it or if their shaking hands made the work suffer?

4. There is no need to make pickles default on a fried chicken sandwich. Just let me enjoy the fried chicken without that slimy, briny junk

This was a nice surprise to get in the mail today, as I pre-ordered it months ago and thought it was coming in June πŸ˜… I love so much the way @nikostratis.com writes about music; I've really been looking forward to this book.

I keep seeing people say they want to know they are interacting with a human, and not a bot, ignoring that some of the biggest disinfo spreaders and trolls online are consistently operating under their own real names

I was washing my hands at the kitchen sink, suddenly got dizzy, and that's when I realized I'd been holding my breath for no reason! I was thinking too hard and forgot to breathe!

So this is your reminder to take a few big slow deep breaths right now. And try not to forget to breathe.

The same jar from above, so you can see the side without looking through the glass.

I'm holding up the same jar with one hand so I can show the view straight down into it. The crystals growing up the side have been removed, but the bottom is covered with a dense layer of crystal stuck at the bottom of the jar.

A little piece of homegrown crystal sitting on a black surface.

I think my experiment failed, I can't get most of it out of the jar. πŸ˜‚ Though I did get a couple little pieces to examine up close.

To be sure it's partially the black glass slate in my hand, but also it seems like sometimes I need to do a lap around the house tidying? Anxious behavior? Literally getting the house in order?

The time between the moment I decide "I'm going to get in the shower now" and the time I actually get in the shower is always 40-90 minutes somehow. Can someone explain this? A time scientist?

Aww! I like picturing child Jon watching crystals grow around a castle.

I had to look this up because I didn't know of Superman Peanut Butter. The marketing says "At last, a peanut butter you can look up to." πŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ

Supposed to give it seven days, so I have a little weird growing thing to observe in my home for the next week. Kind of like a pet rock maybe.

One good thing about today was learning that, despite living in the quagmire of violence we call America, I was not the only one who assumed the Cybertruck in front of the Trump hotel just spontaneously combusted. Took hours and a nap for it to occur to me that it could have been an intentional act.

A large wide mouth glass jar, without a lid, sitting on my kitchen counter. It's filled with a clear but cloudy liquid, and there's a white dome shaped "seed stone" resting on the bottom, as well as some white powder that didn't fully dissolve in the liquid. Looks a bit like snow. Behind the jar, out of focus, you can see some of the rest of my kitchen.

Sarah Marshall said "People who have good personalities in their 30s, often have at least annoying personalities in their early 20s." and I actually yelped in pain because she didn't have to come at me that hard

If there weren't such a widespread culture among new arrivals of automatic followback and follow farming, those "bots" would not exist. (The scammers would, because they're eternal, but they wouldn't be so prominent.)
