Public housing ends up being cheaper, as well as being a social good.
Fascinating discussion about how war effects women. ~90 of all peace deals exclude women, and yet they receive the brunt of consequences of war.

Academics and technologists are sounding the alarm about a growing crisis in scholarship as we know it: AI-generated citations of nonexistent papers that have infested real journals. Despite being fake, the sources are widely assumed to be authentic the more they appear in published literature.

an excerpt from a text conversation that occurs in a mix of French and English Person 1 writes in French - I’ll bring it next time Person 2 responds in French - Thank you very much. with a heart emoji at the end. Person 1 adds in English - It’s a little late. With a laughing emoji at the end. Person 2 responds first in English - That’s my bad. Then in French - I didn’t pay attention to the publication date. With a laughing emoji.

We all know this is fascism.

My favourite thing about the PhD defense is when the examiners each begin their questioning with some variation on “Thank you so much for this work you have done and the invitation to think with you about it”.
