Grateful for my PhD supervisor, Dr. James Gillett (Associate Professor), a sociologist by training whose interdisciplinary work spans multiple fields and provided training.
Each mentor shaped how I approach research & collaboration within & across disciplines contributing meaningfully to my career.
My sincere gratitude to Dr. John Fox (Professor Emeritus). He was an incredible mentor, supervisor, and teacher. I’ll especially remember our discussions on methodology—and thoughts on AI-generated responses. His contributions to R and statistical methodology extend well beyond sociology.
I’m grateful to have been mentored by Sociologists throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies shaping this interdisciplinary perspective. Dr. Dorothy Pawluch (Professor Emeritus), for creating the undergraduate interdisciplinary social psychology program providing the theoretical foundation.
I shared my work across disciplines, collaborating with economists, psychologists, geographers, mathematicians, psychiatrists, public health researchers, political scientists, anthropologists & sociologists that led to a series of papers & projects and continue inform my interdisciplinary research.
🪧 Had a great conversation @asanews.bsky.social South Asian Community panel about the evolving job market with Drs. Joya Misra, Tamanna Shah, and Shiv Issar.
Shared my own path across policy, data, and research—and the importance of interdisciplinary work.

Student debt UK, £292bn; England, £267bn.
Must abolish university tuition fees. Most European countries do not charge fees to their citizens.
Shell’s oil traders get earnings boost from Iran war. Share price down today as ceasefire is bad for profits.

Hi everyone, our small collective of volunteers has been working hard to revitalize CDSA. As we move forward, we want to make sure past, current, and future members have a chance to share their perspectives about the future of our Canadian Disability Studies Association. Link: tinyurl.com/cdsa2026

They're creating schools where the guides are former teachers, no longer represented by the strongest union in the country. While making $40,000 - $70,000 per student & siphoning money from public schools. Feeding kids their own curriculum through bots under heavy surveilance

The US does not value caregiving, and many think women’s labor force participation is problematic.
You can identify a society’s priorities by what it spends money on. The US’s refusal to invest in childcare infrastructure speaks volumes.

I ran a simple model with new public data then used 1 prompt to make ChatGPT guess what the model would produce. With 10 seconds of "thinking," it was very close. The implications of this are catastrophic. The American Sociological Association should do something about this but it doesn't care to

🚀 I encourage those interested to apply! I received the 🎓 Clifford C. Clogg scholarship in 2017—eventually becoming a TA in 2020 & 2021—and had an incredible experience, shaping my career.
Huge thanks to my mentor & now friend, John Fox, for notifying me about this opportunity & guidance! 🙌 #ICPSR
I flinch at the term “kindergarten readiness.” It implies the burden is on the kid to be ready for the school, not on the school to be ready for the kid.
You accept kids as is in a public school.
