Solidarity back to you! 🫂
YES. (I'm so sorry.)
Sending hugs. There are so many of us sharing this feeling. 🫂🫂
It has been an absolutely brutal term!
I am sure the state of the world has a lot to do with it! There has also been a lot going on in my personal life, and with my health (both physical and mental), and I just do. not. want. to. I have never felt so much like Bartleby.
It is ABSOLUTELY not just you! 🫂🫂
It’s April 18! You know what that means! In 1938 the world saw the first sustained appearance I one of the single greatest fictional characters to ever exist: LOIS LANE. Some other notable great chars also appeared in that same Action Comics #1. But none quite as awesome as Lois.
The level of energy it takes to just Do The Things at this point in the semester is unreal. I am so tired. I don't want to Do The Things. No students. No grading. No meetings. No. (And yet, it all has to be done.)
WHOA. The first big review of my book is out courtesy of @significancemag.bsky.social and I am honored and delighted by it. "Want to use your data skills to promote social justice? This 'nontechnical, story-filled' book will inspire and inform... a wise and witty companion." #StatsSky
@yale.edu released a report on why the public (allegedly) doesn't trust higher education. The @nytimes.com covered it uncritically. So... I'm "pleased" to unveil my next debunking: an interactive annotated doc that points out factual, logical, and rhetorical errors. Enjoy! #AcademicSky
🚨My nerds: new preprint + data available to you starting now. Plz enjoy what I believe to be (other than tax stuff) the first large scale empirical dataset about the Federalist Society. Have fun! 😘 #LawSky #PoliSky #AcademicSky osf.io/preprints/so...

What a terrific thread of work
Great write up by @profrothman.bsky.social on what the call for new regulation around the Grammarly suit misses about the right of publicity.
These laws are already there and applicable to Gen AI! We need to enforce them!
Deeply relevant as we consider the hastily constructed NOFAKES Act.
I'm delighted for you! That's so great!
Also the quality decline: brands that provided decent mid priced quality workwear like Loft or Banana Republic have cut finishing corners in the last few years post-COVID. Same with car amenities. The quality of everything we interact with in our daily lives is perceptibly *worse* than10 years ago.
Kendra, I didn't realize you are at Yaddo right now! So cool! 😍
I am looking forward to this and seeing the exhibition in Saratoga Springs while I'm here at Yaddo.
@lmacthompson1.bsky.social , @einavrfox.bsky.social , perhaps you could help spread the word?😊
Where did her money come from? We’ll be exploring the whole fascinating story in this 30-minute Zoom presentation, “Frank Leslie Buys Women’s Votes.”
This program will be held on Zoom. Register through the QR code on the flyer! (3/3)
One of the major differences was money. Where did the money come from? Enter Frank Leslie - just one of the eight names Miriam Leslie would have during her lifetime. Who was this woman who would leave nearly two million dollars to Catt to fund the fight for women’s suffrage? (2/3)
Description: Carrie Chapman Catt said that the passage of New York State’s Women’s Suffrage Amendment in 1917 was the “Gettysburg of the Women’s Suffrage movement.” Yet just two years earlier, New York State had voted the same measure down. What changed in two short years? (1/3)
Program flier for a Zoom talk, "Frank Leslie Buys Women's Votes," Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 7 p.m. Program hosted by Nancy Brown and sponsored by the Women's Rights Alliance of New York State.
I am on the WRANYS board, and we are so excited about this upcoming program. Please come join us on Zoom! (Fuller description of the talk in next tweet.)
Democracy is corny.
Fascism is creepy.
Corny > Creepy.
A photo of an orange flower, in which two bees are facing and nestling together. “Did you know that when bees grow old, they don’t always make it back to the hive. Instead, they spend their last night resting gently on a flower beneath the stars. If they see another sunrise, they’ll gather one last bit of pollen as a final gift to their colony before quietly slipping away. So when you see a little bee resting on a flower at duck… pause and thank her. She’s more precious than gold.” ~GardeningSoul

Any government that isn't right now accelerating plans to transition to 100% clean, renewable energy is either:
a. Incompetent
b. In the pockets of people who'd rather they didn't
c. a & b
A capture of a golden sunrise, the sun coming up from behind a treeline, light mist in the foreground.
our real home
is the space we hold
for one another
our hearts were made
to be havens
for the hopeless
let us give each other
a place to rest
let us give each other
a place to rest
