The Centurion is an oddly polarizing mech in all its sculpts.
Brought a buddy out of gaming retirement tonight with some casual #battletech #alphastrike. Since he was out of practice, I felt free to just bring out the weird (bad) #Liao #DeathCommando stuff. My Xanthos tanked damage and my Dola (that broke coming out of the case) shivved a Jenner on the back.

Popularly, these became known as the Unseen. Many eventually came back in redesigned forms, but many of us old-timers still love the originals.
In this case, the "transformer" mechs - Land Air Mechs - had unpopular rules and have largely disappeared from the game.
Short version: When BT first started, they licensed a lot of Macross models to get their project off the ground.
Unfortunately, the person who sold the rights may or may not have had permission to do so, so lawsuits flew. FASA was too small to REALLY fight it, so those versions of mechs disappeared

I mean, that sounds on brand...at least for how the neighborhood was 20-something years ago.
Not that I have seen.
Don't get me wrong - the files themselves are fine. I've certainly backed stuff that came with error-filled, half-ass STLs. These ones just don't have really well defined borders in the shapes, which makes it difficult to color - but that wasn't something they promised in the Kickstarter.
They're cool designs, and my next BT campaign is gonna have a lot of farmland.
The files were NOT optimized for multicolor, lemme tell you THAT! Oof.
(That being said, I have more printing as we speak.)

This is Alpha Strike: Aces, which is the newest version where there are "AI" cards to control the OpFor so you can play solo or co-op.
We're planning to do a Tukayyid Chaos Campaign adapted to this, and the first step was to see if it could handle a 10 v 12 match (it could.)
