What's your favourite #liminalspace ? "Looking at my own work, I love nothing better than an empty stretch of torn up concrete, a relentless corridor or a dead beach full of office furniture. And my interest in these is a product of when I grew up" #liminalhorror gnofhorror.com/liminal-drea...

"So, The Lighthouse at the End of the World, has been out in the world for about three weeks at this point. As you might expect, this is a strange and (mostly) wonderful thing. I think, I’m just about beginning to get my head around it." philipasuggars.substack.com/p/this-is-no... #booksky #fantasy

Two hooded figures come to a house.WE HAVE COME FOR THE CHILD.
Mother: SO SOON?
WE COULDN'T SEE THE HARM! WE ONLY WANTED HIM TO ENJOY READING!
FOR MOST, IT ENDS THERE.
OH LORD! WHAT HAVE I DONE!
WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE GOT HIM A LIBRARY CARD!
WHAT IS DONE CANNOT BE UNDONE.
IT IS TIME
DO NOT CRY MOTHER
I AM A WRITER NOW.

mock-up of either a movie poster or a novel cover, showing head shots of Shania Twain and Mark Twain, and in the front, the title: "Never the Twain Shall Meet."

I'm brave enough to admit that I would, in fact, buy this the day it goes on sale or see it opening night. Yes, I would.

I loved reading this brilliant article, just as much as reading Philip's brilliant novel The Lighthouse at the End of the World

Yeah, I think Ioved the dream logic quality of the castle sections, I found the period scenes felt incredibly stilted. there were moments that felt a bit like I was watching an R-rated Muppet Christmas Carol :) But props for making Nosferatu utterly gross.

Hex House Review: Amy Jane Stewart’s Dark Fairy Tale Of Feminine Revenge - The Ginger Nuts Of Horror Review Website Amy Jane Stewart’s Hex House Review explores its Scottish gothic horror, themes of feminine revenge, and why it’s a must-read for dark fairy tale fans.

“A dark, transgressive fairy tale that weaponises feminine rage, Hex House is a stunning, unforgettable debut about what women become when the world offers no safe harbour.”

Basically my thesis here is: wobbly BBC corridors morphed into Severance.

1970s TV couldn't afford monsters. So it made the corridors terrifying instead. Philip A. Suggar on liminal dread, power cuts, and Mr. Primrose's thresholds.

To all who wanted to attend my tour today at the British Museum at 2PM, I'm afraid I have a poorly parent and have had to cancel. Also using Eventbrite is like navigating the Minotaur's labyrinth so I have been unable to email you all an apology, but have issued refunds. Big gay stressed hugs!

Now the first book is out, dicking about with the cosmogony for the next Cities of the Drift book. I’m pretty bad at drawing but even a rough visual guide helps me get things straighter when writing. What techniques do you use to get your ideas down? #amwriting #amwritingfantasy #writingcommunuty
