"Over the past several months, our community has built a blueprint that other communities can use when federal agencies attempt to move detention infrastructure into their neighborhoods..."

In return, a Smolly photo you may have missed:
the conservative obsession with children's genitals now extended to wanting to breed teenage girls

Finally, someone thinks of us!
again, this is the concern with Platner. this article is arguing that his Nazi tatoo is a *good thing* because it trolls the left.

“Hi, new guy! You’re in charge now!”
I got a fundraising text from his campaign. I replied with “You have a fucking Nazi tattoo” and then blocked the number.
The queer student organization when I was in college had just added the B to its nane in 1990 or. 1991, which was convenient timing for me and my realization that I was bi.
GSAs in high school make me feel old, but in a good way: this was not even a thought when I was in high school.
War *is* a matter of morality.
Famously (I would have thought) Thomas Aquinas included in his Summa Theologica (a rather important work of Catholic theology) what constituted a Just War.

Please to stop shoving generative “AI” down our throats.
Come on then, and remove him.
Four headlines in which Marjorite Taylor Greene, Tucker Carolson, Piers Morgan, and Alex Jones condemn Trump for his genocidal threats to Iran.
Imagine being a moderate Republican and getting outflanked on decency, morality, and basic humanity by these four nutters
Everyone is so perky! and shiny!
Another stint in a medical waiting room; another confirmation of why I don’t watch HGTV shows of my own volition.
Freddie Fucking Freeman strikes again.
5-0 Dodgers.
Sigh.
POTUS Proposes Elimination of Federal Library Funding. The President again requested that Congress eliminate the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the Innovative Approaches to Literacy (IAL) program. We've seen this before, and we're not going away. Fund Libraries, ALA 150, American Library Association.
"We are not surprised that the White House FY27 budget zeroes out funding for IMLS and IAL. The president’s intentions for IMLS were clear last year with the executive order to dismantle IMLS and cut off its funding [...] ALA members have a solid track record of defeating the president’s threats, but we do not underestimate the lengths to which he will go to undercut support for America’s libraries. ALA is working to make sure decisionmakers continue to hear from library advocates.” - ALA President Sam Helmick
NEW: The President once again called to eliminate federal library funding in his federal budget proposal. We have been here before. And when we make our voices heard, we can overcome this again.

10-4 Dodgers in the 5th. THE 5TH.
And now a 2-run shot. JFC.
Seriously, why the fuck do I watch these guys?
Turned on the Nats game just in time to see Andy Pages hit a 3-run shot off of them.
For the first (and definitely not the last) time this season: oh, Nats.
Most political science still treats authoritarianism and racial politics as separate subjects. That's a problem.
The 2026 JHU Racial Politics Summer Institute is dedicated entirely to the study of race and authoritarianism. Grad students and faculty — apply by April 11. forms.gle/RYALxK89d5dz...
@mostlybree.kitrocha.com I don't know if it's cheating to tell Romancelandia about this but Dr Nerdlove wants letters based on people's favorite media and, well, if ever there were a time for Romancelandia to enjoy themselves...
The graphic features the pale blue cover of The Library journal, on a blue banner at the bottom which contains the LUP logo and the Bibliographic society logo next to it. The background is a dark-panelled wooden library shelf with a ladder, featuring text overlaid in white which reads: 'The journal of The Bibliographical Society; the pre-eminent scholarly journal for the study of bibliography and of the role of the book in history.'

Especially draw. I have an entire collection of images on my phone that I call “little dudes in incunabula.”
There are tourists in the LC tunnels. I have no idea how they get there, but they get there. An entire tour group of thumper teenagers descended on the Madison cafeteria yesterday.
Seconded on behalf of those who work on the Hill. We are lousy with tourists.
I am tired of being tired.
