Happy snow to all that thrive in it
Glad you’re also on Team Snow ❄️ ⛄️
Please adopt this dog so my wife does not. No, I do not live anywhere near you, but that will not stop her.

Hi Folks!
I am hiring a product designer to work on tooling for mechanical and aerospace engineers. It's a SUPER FUN domain.

On the bright side they just put in wonderful traffic calming updates at 18th and Wabash.
This is a calming vibe I’ve been enjoying lately: @frogandtoadbot.bsky.social
Ironic, because just this morning I had to jump the curb with my kids stroller because someone had fully blocked the crosswalk.
I guess it’s nice to know it’s worse other places!
Oh, I didn’t think it was a mistake! They’ve done stuff like that before. Like we used to be gerrymandered into different wards.
Zooming in it really looks likes they will be allowed the other side of the street, but not my side.
Man TRON : Legacy was 15 years ago. Yikes.
Yup. Same same. I think that attitude is pretty common and data work where correctness and scalability are the main selling points for a dedicated data team as opposed to ad hoc analysis.
The possibility of an ~immediate pretty good answer breaks most people’s mental model for tradeoffs between speed and quality.
I’m only slowly starting to come around to how useful a mostly right answer right now can be even if it’s just a stepping stone.
There's a great turnout at the Chicago River Swim, the first time people are swimming in the open river in a hundred years! Here are some phone photos before I get home

In other words:
A white, oblong wedge of a spaceship hanging in front of a dark blue moon or planet. It's profile is smeared out to the side in orange and red streaks, like it is just starting or finishing FTL.
A white, naval-inspired frigate cruising over a planet lit orange and yellow by a sunrise.
A shiny metal spaceship in front of a black and red space scene. The shapes are reminiscent of naval frigates and the Mon Calamari ships in Star Wars.
A white ship made of curving, arced shapes, stretching out to the left as if the shape is being warped.
Get in, losers. We're posting John Berkey spaceships.
Very distinct memories of this cover from my elementary school library.
It worked too! I majored in astronomy and ended up working for the Hubble.
Matrix multiplication is not easy to understand.
Even looking at the definition used to make me sweat, let alone trying to comprehend the pattern. Yet, there is a stunningly simple explanation behind it.
Let's pull back the curtain!
