Maybe they relied on AI to pick targets. But they bombed the school twice, hitting it again 40 minutes after the initial strike, in order to kill survivors and first responders. The mere *existence* of AI means no one has to be held responsible for this crime against humanity

What I Saw at a Maternity Ward in Kenya After the U.S. Cut Off Food and Foreign Aid Photographs tell a story of two mothers determined to help their babies gain enough weight to leave the hospital — only to face little to no food again.

A maternity ward doctor donated his own blood during surgery to keep a pregnant patient alive.

One woman gained fewer than 10 pounds over her entire pregnancy.

Another collapsed and had seizures during labor.

New data shows surge in trans kids’ suicides following healthcare rollbacks | Good Law Project A freedom of information request by Good Law Project has found that deaths by suicide of trans young people under 18 surged following the withdrawal of gender-affirming healthcare

The number of trans youth suicides in the UK quadrupled in 2021 following significant restrictions in access to care. The NHS tried to cover this up with a fake report that tried to hide the truth.

It's cool to be reading down an article of recent horror books going "Yes, ha ha ha YES" sickos style because they're all bangers and then stumble onto your own among them 🤩

A GAME IN YELLOW is in fantastic company here with BLACK FLAME, BAT EATER, and more 💛

Gamers Are Overwhelmingly Negative About Gen AI in Video Games, but Attitudes Vary by Gender, Age, and Gaming Motivations. Learn about how gender, age, and gaming motivations shape the perception of Gen AI in video games.

everyone dislikes genai in games, but kids and story-focused players the most.

sounds like we'll be ok. just have to stay the course here and the "inevitable" new technology nobody likes will die. again.

For our next game update: I made an anti-AI placeholder for fun, but since @alexstrook.bsky.social liked it it so much I made it into a real color variation for a poster 🫡

Never used AI for anything in our games, and we're not going to start anytime soon

those of us laid off from Teen Vogue were really fortunate to complete our fundraising goal — the laid-off staffers at VIBE deserve the same support, as Black media outlets and journalists continue to be targeted and discriminated against in “austerity” measures

Terry’s chocolate orange with the Lament Configuration

Parents, please check your kids’ candy this Halloween. I just found this puzzle box inside a Terry’s chocolate orange, played with it for a moment, and a gang of black-clad, heavily pierced extra-dimensional beings showed up saying they have such sights to show me. Be safe.

From the Wired article "Spit On, Sworn At, and Undeterred: What It’s Like to Own a Cybertruck" - interviews with seven Cybertruck owners.

One of them is Russ Taylor from CA. Excerpt from his interview:

QUESTION: How do you feel about becoming a political lightning rod?

Taylor: "People occasionally just flip [me] off or whatever, but nobody's come up to me and tried to make a statement about anything. Personally, it's kind of dumb. It's just a vehicle. So it's ironic that it would even become a political statement, but nonetheless it is."

[Editor’s note: Taylor was arrested and convicted of conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding in the January 6 attack on the Capitol. He was later pardoned by President Trump.]
