Wondering if Kemp needs to go "Fully Waggy" and give up on bowling - accept that ship has sailed, and focus on her batting?
Assuming Eccles (because… she actually is still the best when it really matters and she wants to be) and Dean (because… she's next captain) are now guaranteed picks, even if she gets ahead of Smith, she is only going to get in if they play 3 spinners.
Cricket District are everything that is wrong with cricket: astroturfing come full-circle - slick corporate propaganda masquerading as edgy grassroots content.
So in the light of [waves hands] everything… this totally makes sense!
Updated my WT20 player rankings, including the recent internationals and the WPL with some tweaks to methodology.

Georgia Voll hits 101 v West Indies - all 3 of Voll's international hundreds have been innings of exactly 101!
A screenshot of a blog post from Being Outside Cricket, which explains how both women and non-White players are unable to meaningfully sway the decisions of the PCA (the union for professional cricketers in England and Wales) because they are massively outnumbered by the White male majority.
The democratic nature of the PCA is the problem. Because there are a lot fewer professional women's cricketers than men's, any issues specific to women are by definition a minority concern within the PCA.
Here's a post I wrote in 2021 about this issue: beingoutsidecricket.com/2021/06/15/i...

As mentioned on the pod, my cricket team are raising money for BEAT, the UK Eating Disorder Charity by running/cycling 1001km in March as a group (I’m currently at 126km & knackered 🤣)
Ofc no pressure but please donate if you feel able!

Good to see that Shelley Nitschke agrees with me on playing a specialist captain, even if they don't make the XI for either their batting or their bowling.
(Sophie Molineux carded at 9 (DNB) and didn't bowl.)
I heard they were going to experiment with the pricing this year to see how much scope there was for increases. Guess this is that experiment.
A montage of photos of historical Surrey players including Molly Hide, Jan Brittin and the KSL-winning team.
Beans, eggs and sourdough.
Kira Chathli interviewed by Mark Church, with the Oval pitch in the background.
Been out and about at the Surrey Media Day this morning. Very nice breakfast courtesy of Kia, new 50-over skipper Kira Chathli being kept busy with interviews, and Surrey have some new women’s history stuff up in the pavilion 👏
Full run-down on Sunday’s episode of The @crickether.com Weekly!
Maia Bouchier (47*) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (41*) combine to Make Brittin Great Again, with an 81-run partnership that sees Team Brittin beat Team Heyhoe Flint by 9 wickets in Pretoria.

Cynical? Moi?
"The mentor role… is another way of getting women who have influence and credibility proximate to players who might want to report issues."
Or is it a way of ensuring women who have influence and credibility have something to lose if they speak out?
It will be on NV Play but just a question of whether they allow us to see it, or if it is kept private.
Think it is a genuinely interesting question. I think everybody needs downtime; but a culture of drinking and partying can definitely become a problem in terms of fitness and attitude.
They have already pretty-much said that it will be T20 format after the current broadcast deal expires.

With England, I assume?
Player auctions manage to combine all the mind-numbing tedium of transfer windows and drafts, with an extra layer of antediluvian ick factor that only seems amplified when applied to women's sports. (IMO)
Meg Lanning, sitting at a table with other Manchester Super Giants staff
Interesting that Meg Lanning is at The Hundred auction, presumably in her capacity as captain of Manchester Super Giants.
Inquiring minds would be interested to know whether she is being paid, and if so how this works with the salary cap?
Almost everyone in the room is male.
A room full of men bidding on women.
If you can't see a problem here, you are the problem.
I'm not sure you can tho? Do you ban LWH from going clubbing with her wife?
(I mean… I'm sure that they would LOL at the idea of them going clubbing at all if they saw this, but…)
LWH is saying that "quite a lot of it" is because coaches are going drinking and clubbing with players, which suggests maybe that there are perhaps more incidents (like… "quite a lot"!) which are going unreported.
What is clear, reading between the lines of what LWH says, is that there is a much wider problem than anyone currently wants to admit.
