8 years ago, I told a story which changed my life forever. Shortly after, an old pal from college asked if he could turn it into a film.
So I am DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE that 'Me, Myself & Mary' is not only finished, but has been chosen to lead the Tribeca Festival's animated shorts roster this year.
The programme for the 'Theorizing Swindling' symposium in Galway.
I was having so much fun at the @sociologyireland.bsky.social Social Theory Study Group symposium in Galway yesterday that I didn't think to post. We are on day two here today. So many interesting papers and discussions. Swindling is such an interesting concept to play with. #socialtheory
Coupled with their contempt, which Eamonn discusses well here, Stan's point about competance is key. These last weeks have seen intelligence failures, security failures, decision failures, communication failures, policy failures, media performance failures etc etc...on one issue.

This is a great read of the situation. Well worth your time.
The only way to durably protect hauliers - and the economy - against fossil fuel shocks is to support them to electrify trucks.
Sales of electric trucks in China outsold diesel trucks last December.
So far this year, only one electric HVG was newly registered in Ireland.

Taco it is. Of course.
America, sort your shit out. Ffs.

I know, right! And the video quality really helps here too. It feels more... current or something.
I haven't listened to Smith in a while but (and I am sure this is true for many of you, my beautiful Bluesky bed-wetters) I loved this guy at a certain time in my life, and still do. They've really worked some magic on the video quality here, too. A belated #FridayTunes.

Interesting, personal, and reflective post by Nancy Fraser in the LRB. I'd like to hear more about the theme raised at the end.

Ireland kicked away possession and were too inaccurate in the second half. Hope they can lift it for extra time.

This is not really my sport but I'm delighted to see Ireland ahead, and they could be one or two more in the green if they calmed down a touch. The histrionics of the lads in red really turn me off soccer though.
I see a another goal or two for us in the second half.
