USAID headquarters in Washington are blocked after Musk says Trump agrees to close the aid agency The developments come after Elon Musk said that he had spoken with President Donald Trump about the aid and development agency and “he agreed we should shut it down.”

Elon Musk's wrecking ball now swings at USAID, vaporizing humanitarian assistance, putting countless lives at risk, threatening to topple America's economic and moral standing and emboldening autocrats around the world.

Stand strong for our top humanitarian aid agency.

The work of USAID is crucial to furthering the reputation of the USA globally through compassion. The attacks on USAID by Elon Musk and the Trump administration need to stop. We should strengthen compassion, not eliminate it.

You may believe man-made climate change contributed to the devastating LA Wildfires, or you may not.

But can we all simply agree that living in a healthier relationship to nature is a good thing we should strive to do?

It should really cause a government to have some humility in thinking a system could be created that others cannot or will not game.

15 years ago today, an earthquake struck Haiti, causing the deaths of over 220,000 people.

Natural disasters happen every year, but the magnitude of that number should rally the world to come to the aid of Haitians until everyone has enough food to eat, safe water drink, and a peaceful society.

Quantifying giving to “people in need” could be challenging. Conservatives donate more to charities, but they also tend to be more religious which encourages (if not damns you to hell in some cases for not) giving.

Trends that will spur humanitarian needs in 2025 Key factors raising new challenges and likely to worsen lives for millions in crisis hotspots over the coming year.

Global public debt is at a record $97 trillion, according to UN figures. Public debt is growing twice as fast in developing countries, and economists expect debt defaults – where a government can’t pay what it owes – to rise in the coming year

I don't think there's anything wrong with people who do good work for ethical causes earning a lot of money, in fact, the world might be better if the best paying jobs were those that provided social good.

Yet learning this fact about King makes me admire him even more.

Today, so many capitalize on their fame, even those who are doing good work for public benefit causes. Yet King believed he only needed what he needed to his family to live, and the rest of the money he could raise should go to the cause of civil rights and economic justice.
