Travel is wild. Hello, stranger with laminated sheet showing tour prices. I will go on that tour where I pay a second stranger for a third stranger to take me to a seemingly sea-worthy boat so a fourth stranger can drive the boat to a fifth stranger who will show me a world heritage site. Thank you!

The Germans really cooked making "Hobbyless behaviour" an insult. It is both devastating, applicable to a wide range of people and behaviours, and doesn't resort to swearing.

Man ranting on the internet about the Superbowl halftime show or complaining that something is "woke"? Hobbyless Behaviour. Girls mocking another girl for not looking right? Hobbyless Behaviour. Mindless vandalism? Hobbyless Behaviour.

It is more powerful than "get a life" or the English "You're Sad" because it gets to the central point of the matter, and that is wonderful. Danke, Deutsch.

I don't normally subscribe to the "German has a word for it" thing because all languages can invent and borrow new words!

That said, I can't stop thinking about "hobbyless" as an insult since I saw it a few days ago, so here you go

It promotes a growth mindset!!

Your muted words
the shrill wailing of endless sirens in text & tags
the vast hum of terrible machines in text & tags
the coarse grinding of bone against metal in text & tags
the jeers and hisses of ungodly men in text & tags

BlueSky needs more #tuba. Fat Freddy's Drop horn section bringing it at the Enmore in Sydney . Such an excellent show.

Parental tip: at the beginning of the birthday party season, buy 15 small Lego sets and put them in the closet and you can just grab from the pile on the way out the door

Exactly that, or like you say, hit up Bandcamp? I'm currently listening to Atlantis Jazz Ensemble's Oceanic Suite through the Bandcamp app on my phone with Sony headphones, and very happy with my life choices

Couldn't make it all the way though the whine, but what up with the insistence on objectively shitty headphones? Not streaming does not also have to mean ditching over the ear ANC cans, surely?

A jellyfish in Sydney Harbour, with a building reflection

What up BlueSky asks? I'm not sure to be honest. The jellyfish? The building? IDK. #jellyfish #sydney #construction

Why do I have to pretend that I'm going to print something in order to save it as a PDF. Why do I have to engage in a little ruse.

There are also apps that use the camera to validate you're a real person - they do some weird stuff with angles and flashing colours at you - I think the Optus app and Discord are the most recent ones that did this
