In my case it’s just been people going “I just wanted you to know that someone said X” like they’re telling me that someone’s gossiping about me. I don’t think it’s malicious, just a case of really not understanding that my reputation will take a bigger hit from doing anything than from the review.

I LOVE seeing nice reviews for my book but PLEASE don’t send me negative reviews. Even if you just want me to know what people are saying, what am I supposed to do about it? Throw a fit on social media & torpedo my career? The book is done & I’m not rewriting it for someone who won’t even reread it.

Fun fact! The final draft of Crown of Starlight was round 20-something of edits! Most were before I queried because I’m the kind of author who really develops their story through the editing process, but I had 1 round with my agent & 4 with my publisher!

How many rounds of edits do you normally do?

The book community doesn't agree on much. But can all just agree that asking freelancers to do work for you for EXPOSURE should be crime???!!
