What do the immigration figures for the UK really show? Official figures indicate net migration is falling, yet concern among Britons is close to the highest it has been since polling began in 1974

Lib Dem MPs slam county council over new SEND casework policy Liberal Democrat MPs Al Pinkerton, Chris Coghlan, Helen Maguire, Monica Harding, Will Forster and Zöe Franklin have written to Surrey County Council’s cabinet member for children, families and lifelon...

Lack of support for children with special educational needs and disabilities commonly known as SEND, is one of the biggest issues in my postbag as #Woking’s MP. Yet Tory-run #Surrey County Council is refusing to reply to MPs about SEND! 😡

It is appalling that Surrey CC has told MPs not to contact them about SEND cases. They should realise that even SCC Children's Service is accountable for what they do.

At the least, American goods should be labelled so we can make our own choices.

The UK government must stand up to Trump as Canada has. USA farming methods would not be tolerated here. They mst not dump their stuff here in competition with our farmers who adhere to higher standards.

No second state visit for Trump Unbelievable. Keir Starmer has handed Donald Trump a letter from King Charles, inviting him for a second state visit to the UK. It’s totally unprecedented, and should not go ahead.  This is the...

Unbelievable. Donald Trump has been invited to a state visit to the UK. We should not be rolling out the red carpet to celebrate this man. Agree? Add your name to the petition today: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/no...

Well done and thank you @liztownsend.bsky.social It's a shame the SCC cabinet didn't adopt all your proposals but this is a great first step.

Just think what could be achieved if all those multi billionaires used their money on medical science and humanitarian aid instead of a peeing contest to see who has got the biggest rocket.

If we only have people who have lived exemplary lives in Parliament, it would need a room the size of a telephone box.

For that to happen, it would need a further change in the law.

I beg to differ. Disabled people would have to meet all the criteria of terminal illness, having capacity to give consent and convince two doctors and a judge that this is their intent.

I am getting annoyed at MPs who are debating things that are not in the bill. Passing this bill will not prevent improvement in palliative care. They should go hand in hand. The bill has a great many safeguards. I am not terminally ill but if that time comes, I want to make my own choice.

I found 3 NF accounts. I have learnt how to block.

I haven't found out how to block people.

My personal view is that, while people will have their own views, it is wrong to impose those views on other people. But I accept this is a matter where a free vote for MPs is the right thing to do.

BTW Ed is right about palliative care regardless of the outcome of the vote.

My first Blue-sky rant.
I am fed up with hearing politicians of one party or another saying we must fix social care. The issue is not going to go away just because you try to avoid it. The situation is causing pain and distress for many families. Just get on with it. Cross-party agreement needed.

I am happy to debate with anyone on the basis that we show respect and listen to proper arguments. I got sick of being insulted, called names, abused and threatened by people who made no effort to explain their point of view. Shouty people don't listen. They just shout.

Headline style graphic. The top half features a family carer with an elderly woman. The bottom half references a guardian headline: More than 250 UK unpaid carers risk prosecution over benefit overpayments

It is right that DWP are to review the carers' earnings cliff-edge, but it can’t be business as usual while that review takes place.

Carers do vital work. If we are to rescue our NHS, we must support them.

I think Brexit was one of the biggest mistakes we ever made as a country. The Mansion House speech by the Governor of the Bank of England shows the impact it has had on our economy.
